Ender of Fire - PS4 Review | Chalgyr's Game Room

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
Good old fantasy games are in a way making their way back into the limelight over the past few years. Male Warriors, Female Archers, and Male Wizards make up this almost holy trinity that has always seemed to just work. Taking this fantasy formula, XINESS has created an interesting fantasy world and set these classes into a Side-Scrolling Action Adventure that if nothing else, made me think of a much more serious toned Dragon's Crown.

| Everybody's Gone to the Rapture Review - AusGamers

Joaby at AusGamers writes: "What people are talking about when they declare something a Walking Simulator are the popular narrative-focused games where the player meanders through a game-world learning more about it as they go. The player interacts by looking and learning, and forward momentum is acquired directly via forward momentum. In Gone Home, you find notes from their sister. You arrive home and you experience a person's life as well you might by walking into a vacationing family's home and ruffling through their shit. It's endearing thanks to strong, absent characterisation and fairly solid plotting, and so people connect with the house, the characters and the game itself.
I could see what there was to like about Gone Home as much as I could see what people disliked. This is not the case with Everybody's Gone to the Rapture."

"The answers are all here. The answers are in the light."
How did you react to that line? Did the ambiguity intrigue you, the mystery of what it could mean that "the answers are in the light," or did it just not phase you at all? It's an important distinction to make now, because if you're the latter type, you might not get a lot out of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. But if you're the type who loves to soak in a good story, pore over every clue and poke your nose into every nook and cranny in search of some greater understanding, then you'll find Rapture to be a poignant and tenebrously beautiful experience that rewards your thoroughness and devotion. It's a flawed game for sure, sometimes maddeningly so, but the bright spots amongst the darkness here are usually just good enough to be worth the trudge.

Among all this, we find time to talk about Everybodys Gone to the Rapture, the new Pro Evolution Soccer demo, and more Wasteland 2. Al finds himself on the verge of Xbox One ownership, whilst its Metal Gear Solid V, and its ample use of the fulton recovery system that has Mucker tempted.
