Warp Zoneds 2014 Golden Pixel Awards: Honoring Our Favorite Games

Added: 14.01.2015 8:10 | 4 views | 0 comments

Warp Zoned writes: "With the PS4 and Xbox One entering their first full year on store shelves, 2014 turned out to be a bit of a transition year. A lot of games were delayed into 2015 and a few others were delayed even further. With the other two consolemakers taking a step back in 2014, it was Nintendos time to shine and the wizards behind the Wii U responded with nearly a dozen major titles. But that doesnt mean the PS4 and the Xbox One (or the PS3 and Xbox 360, for that matter) went hungry in 2014. There were plenty of great games to go around last year and you can read all about them as we hand out our annual Golden Pixel Awards"

The Worry Over Uncharted 4

Added: 09.01.2015 23:10 | 4 views | 0 comments

Pixel Gate UK writes: ''As a huge fan of Uncharted, the second one being the reason I bought a PS3, Uncharted 4 has me conflicted. I was well aware that the PS4 would see a new Uncharted game, it hasnt stopped me from pondering about the games place in the franchise. For the most part, Uncharted has had a pretty compact storyline. The only deviation from the main storyline has been the PS Vitas Golden Abyss. By the time Uncharted 3 closes, everything is neatly wrapped up, theres no questions lingering and everyone has reached their end game.''

Best Survival/Horror Game of 2014

Added: 05.01.2015 17:11 | 12 views | 0 comments

gamrReview's Jake Weston: "Survival Horror fans have a love/hate relationship with their favorite genre. While we are no doubt beyond the Golden Age that gave us Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, and Clock Tower, a surge of recent indie releases has shown that the genre is alive and well. And yet, the genre has struggled in the mainstream AAA space, with the latest Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Dead Space entries all finding themselves more at home in the action or shooter categories. With all of that said, 2014 was a big year for Survival Horror in gaming, with Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami returning to the genre with The Evil Within, Alien returning to its roots with Alien: Isolation, and indie games continuing to shake up the formula with titles such as The Forest, Neverending Nightmares, Among the Sleep, and This War of Mine. Its easy to say that 2014 was the best in years for Horror, yet only one of these games can take our pick."
