Call of Juarez: Gunslinger Review by The Black Panel

The Black Panel writes: Not only is Gunslinger the best Call to Juarez game to date, it is simply the most amount of fun to be had with a six-shooter this side of Red Dead Redemption. Entertaining score-based shooting, light RPG trappings and some of the best narration heard in games make this a blast. Throw in a super low price and Techlands latest becomes a no-brainer!

Jayden Williams at Aussie-Gamer.com writes: "Pull out your six-shooters, Ubisofts Call of Juarez: Gunslinger makes a welcome return to the Old West after 2011s modern-day and lacklustre The Cartel.
The forth game in Ubisofts Call of Juarez series, Gunslinger forgoes the
retail path of its predecessors, and instead wanders along the download-only path.
With a generously sized campaign and two arcade-style modes, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger packs in a lot of bang for your buck. But it is worth the investment? We find out!"

"Theres nothing worse than being super excited for a new game to come out, only to find out that its terrible once you actually get to play it. Well, Call of Juarez: The Cartel was like that for me and it made me doubt Techlands ability to ever make a good game in the series. When they announced Gunslinger, I wanted to be excited but I just couldnt get past how disappointing The Cartel had been. Now that Gunslinger is finally out, did Techland prove me wrong? Did they finally make a good Call of Juarez game? Lets find out."

EDGE: "It may not be enough to rouse those with shooter fatigue, but this is a terrific genre piece: theres a pleasing sense of weight and feedback in its gunplay, levels are snappy and replayable, while collectible cards offer an education in the real history of the era. In truth, however, the fiction or Greaves, at any rate is teresting than the fact. After The Cartel, few would have thought the world needed another Call of Juarez game. Gunslinger proves otherwise."

D+PAD Magazine writes:
Whats up with Techland? To say the least, the Polish developer has a tough time staying consistent. They recently put out Dead Island: Riptide, a slated sequel to the much more appealing original, and the totally shoddy Call of Juarez: The Cartel followed the much-liked Bound in Blood. So, Techland have stayed true to their wildly inconsistent nature and delivered Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, a distinct downloadable take on their previously disc-based Western shooter which, as you might have guessed it, actually has a hell of a lot going for it.
