Fans anticipating Undead Labs upcoming zombie survival title, State of Decay, have been worried about the prospect of finding nothing but poorly skilled random survivors in the game. Sanya Weathers, from Undead Labs, put players at ease yesterday by clarifying that while survivors will be randomized each playthrough to a degree, the developer doesnt want players to be left completely to chance as to whether they will find useful survivors or not. Weathers stated the following. "We want to make sure there is never a playthrough WITHOUT someone who can garden, someone with medical training, someone who can build, etc. Now, whether or not you manage to rescue them and invite them to join you, that's YOUR affair. But you won't get screwed by the random rolls of the character dice."

What a blast (and twirl) from the past! I had no idea about this history of this one, but it's a fun one. Back in 1987, in the days when direct copycats of popular games were rampant across every platform, a near-port of Super Mario Brothers showed up on the Commodore 64 called Great Giana Sisters. And when I say "near-port," I mean "HOLY @%&$, IT'S A GOOMBA WITH EARS" reactions to figures throughout the game. The mechanics were the same, with jumping head-bops and fireballs and breaking bricks with your head (well, fist, but I still prefer the "hard head" impression), and it had no real character of their ownhellip; just the mark of "clone syndrome" that permeated the industry in the early-goings.

While no official ruling has been announced online, the name was transferred to Microsoft this week, according to WHOIS records. There is now only one more active case involving an 'Xbox Gold' name, though it may be decided soon. The dispute over Xbox-Gold.com (Case Number: 1484502) was submitted a day after the XboxGold.org case. The name of next-generation Xbox has been the subject of much speculation, with reports of possible names like the Xbox 720, Xbox Infinity, Xbox 8, Xbox Durango, Xbox Next and others.
