Are Silent Protagonists Good Characters?
Added: 18.07.2014 4:13 | 11 views | 0 comments
We've all seen or at least heard of the silent protagonist trope in gaming. However does it actually create good complex characters? Or will it be another aspect of gaming that will eventually be non-existent?

| Kickstarter-funded Yogventures Cancelled, Shows Why Gamers Should Be Careful With Kickstarters

DSOGaming writes: "Kickstarters have been popping up like mushrooms lately, giving gamers the choice to back up a project that at least looks and sounds interesting. However and as weve already claimed gamers should be aware that some projects may never see the light of day. Yes, some may sound cool, others may sound original, and others may be innovative for their times. The thing is, there is no guarantee that the developers will meet their goals."

| Rumor: GameStop Manager Says Smash Bros Wii U Will Be Bundled With Amiibo, Launching November 21st
Added: 17.07.2014 1:13 | 12 views | 0 comments
A GameStop manager has been in contact to say that hes heard rumblings in the office that that every copy of Smash Bros for Wii U will come with a free Amiibo figure. He also says that he has been hearing that the street date for the Wii U version will be November 21st. He wishes to remain anonymous, so I cant verify these claims. However it does sound fairly plausible. Hopefully we wont have to wait too long for Nintendo to grace us with an official release date.

| 6 Ways Timberman Is Like Flappy Bird
Added: 15.07.2014 22:13 | 17 views | 0 comments
With as many copycats that Flappy Bird has, its refreshing to see something created from the ideals of the diabolical game rather than a straight copy-and-paste. Digital Melodys Timberman definitely has its charms and unique gameplay mechanics that make it its own thing; but its not difficult to see how Flappy Bird inspired the game. All you have to do is look at it. Even the fonts are very similar to Flappy Bird, if not exactly the same. However there are other similarities that are hard to miss.

| Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland Review [Capsule Computers]

Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:
"The Atelier series has moved beyond the Arland trilogy but Gust and Tecmo Koei have kept the trilogy fresh in the minds of fans by releasing slightly enhanced versions of Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru for the Vita last year. However unlike those two games, the title that began the Arland trilogy, Atelier Rorona, was quite primitive feeling as it lacked many of the advancements the later games in the series had."

James Bowden: "Having had some extensive hands-on time with the recent E3 build, I feel as though there are some important deviations from the Smash norm to chew our way through and Im not talking about landing lag (even if that is a big pain in the rear right now).
Lets talk about Link first, as hes my main Smash man. Most things about Link are as youd expect. His special attacks are very much as they were in Brawl; he still grabs with the clawshot, and bombs are still brilliant. Hes also got a new running slash, which is actually a viable KO move, so thats very nice. However it was upon using his forward Smash attack that I first noticed something hugely different with my pointy eared hero: the cool down frames on both stages of his forward Smash Attack were huge."
