React Episode 5: Why Disney Shut Down LucasArts

Added: 04.04.2013 0:18 | 8 views | 0 comments

Gary at TheKoalition.com writes: Today it was revealed that Disney decided to close down their newly acquired LucasArts studio. 150 people were laid off, and both of the studio's current projectsStar Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313 were cancelled. However Disney will still use the Star Wars name to license the series to other studios. This means that instead of developing games in house Disney instead want's to entrust third-party publishers or studios to develop the games for them. This is a pretty selfish move on Disney's behalf, but understandable from a business standpoint.

ScrewAttack: "So if you can, play this on a PC. But If youre not a PC person, this is a great option for you to experience Terraria. However I would suggest downloading the demo and giving the controls a test run before buying it. Though at the end of the day, if you can get used to them Terraria is well worth your time and the price tag."

Brothers: A Tale of Two Mediums

Added: 01.04.2013 2:18 | 2 views | 0 comments

Samuel Woodruff of RealGamerNewz writes, "The thing that stands out most to me is the cinematic quality that the game's creative director, Josef Fares, instills in the game. It's no wonder, since, as he states in the video, Fares started out in film. However, the "cinematic" quality of a game, that is to say, the aesthetic quality of Cinema, can be found in nearly every big title released over the past two generations of consoles. Game-makers have long striven to create "cinematic" games, more and more by increasing the graphical detail and by shifting the plotting to hit particular beats standardized by films. The apex of the modern game seems to be the "playable movie." There's nothing wrong with that, after all, Cinema started very much the same way, and eventually,..."

Ever since the release of Dragon Quest back in 1986, Japanese Role-Playing Games have been on the up and loved by millions. Praised for their stories and memorable characters, it has been a genre that has managed to emit all kinds of emotion in gamers worldwide. However despite all of that, JRPGs have been written off in the past few years as a genre on its deathbed with no real hope of returning to its former glory.

WC - Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Review

Added: 28.03.2013 23:19 | 16 views | 0 comments

WC - Considering that I believe the stealth missions of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare franchise are some of the best the games have to offer, I came to Sniper 2 with some high expectations that on the whole didnt disappoint. However there are a few holes in both the story and the gameplay that brought it down a notch. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 follows Captain Cole Anderson on three missions, varying from urban combat in Sarajevo, the tropical jungles in Burma and the mountains of Tibet. Applying realistic bullet physics, players need to factor in distance, wind and bullet drop when sniping targets, which is assisted by a red dot that calculates all these variables for you. If you want a proper challenge, put the game on maximum difficulty and you have to judge for yourself.

Dollar Dash Review- GamerFitNation

Added: 28.03.2013 20:21 | 2 views | 0 comments

GamerFitNation: Dollar Dash is one of those games that a person can pick up and play, but not play for too long. This game feels like a mini game, like something that would be more at home in Mario Party, or the older game Fusion Frenzy. However the game is more flushed out than a normal mini game, because there are multiple game types and many different types of power-up that allow for many different styles of strategies. The game has a fun sense of humor and has a very cartoony art style, which both melt over into the gameplay.
