All in a name Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation review | Gaming Trend

DD:
A PlayStation Vita re-release of the original Hyperdimension Neptunia made a lot of sense. The original game, released way back in 2010 on the PlayStation 3, was a great concept but a terrible game.
And that remake, Re;Birth 1, was a very good game indeed. However, the the sequel to the original Hyperdimension Neptunia, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, was already a marked improvement in every sense, so I question the relative value of this new remake from Idea Factory and Compile Heart. Sure there are some improvements to the games mechanics, and a couple of additions in terms of characters and the like, but the enhancements are relatively minor this time around when compared to the original, which makes it a slightly more difficult purchase for those who have devoured the original release. Unless, of course, you're dying to have the game on a mobile platform.

| How Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory IIs Giant Enemy Battles Work

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II has gigantic enemies to fight, monsters so big you have to move around them. Orange Heart is a big help here because she has a jump command (circle button) that lets players leap to floating islands surrounding the boss.
Giant boss battles have slightly different rules than regular fights. One change is you cant use combos. Neptune and friends will need to use EXE Drive, combination attacks, and SP skills. Players will recover a little bit of SP each round so you can continue to use SP skills.

Its one thing to follow in your predecessors footsteps and another to wear their shoes while doing so. Re;Birth2 makes a few subtle improvements to the Re;Birth1 formula that remains otherwise unchanged. To say Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation is familiar would be an understatement, but its the little things that count and Re;Birth2 does just enough to differentiate itself from the first remake.

Parallax Play: "The girls of Gamindustri are back in this revamped adventure for the PS Vita, but this time, the younger sisters of the 4 goddesses are taking the spotlight in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2 Sisters Generation. Compile Heart, Idea Factory Felistella have re-imagined the 2nd HDN game (HDN Mk2) for the Vita, enhancing it with new characters, events and monsters, an improved battle system and additional improvements to make it a more approachable and enjoyable game than the original."

Jordan Lemos, GIZORAMA - "Some series come along with a premise that sounds a bit ridiculous, especially when trying to explain it to someone else. If I told you a game had characters that each essentially stood for a particular game system, the world was called Gamindustri, the main characters are called CPUs, and there is a Console War going on, you may think it sounds ridiculousand youd be right. A series like Hyperdimension Neptunia has one of those ideas that sounds silly to exist, but the concept of the game is honestly its highest point. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation was originally released on March 20, 2014 in Japan and is a revamped version of the PS3 version Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. Im always happy when I see games remade for the Vita. I normally have enough games to play on console or PC as is so its nice to have something great on the go as well. If games werent remade for the Vita, I likely never would have played Persona 4, which is...
