Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Review [Capsule Computers]

Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:
"For quite some time now there have been various franchises which have seen annual releases. These include games such as Assassins Creed, Call of Duty, a multitude of sports titles and more. However of these games, there is one annual franchise which comes as quite a surprise and that is the Hyperdimension Neptunia. Over the last few years Compile Heart and NIS America have managed to bring a Neptunia game to Western shores on a yearly basis and each time the series has made a unique JRPG splash full of self-aware humor, bright colors and enjoyable gameplay. With the third release in the series, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory now out in stores, does this title still offer everything fans fo the series have come to love?"

Richard of PopCults.com writes "If you are a fanatic like I am, then hopefully this little piece here has helped in some way inform you of what is out there and what is about to be released in terms of the Neptunia franchise. From three released games, two games in the works, an anime series, a manga adaptation, and various other Neptunia items, you can get your fill of the series in any way possible so you can show your love for the series."

Michael Engle: I want to preface this review by saying that if you like old-school RPG's, anime, and giant boobs, then Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is for you. Niche games are niche, but I have to admit that this game speaks to the fourteen-year-old in all of us that felt that guilty tingle in their pants every time they watched Sailor Moon. This game is full of self-aware video game references and is very Japanese. Have I sparked your interested yet? If so, let's take a trip to Gameindustri and log into the third installment of this JRPG franchise.

GR's DeShaun Zollicoffer writes:
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is the follow-up to last year's Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. It's timing couldn't be better. We're on the verge of a bloody console war and this series is all about console wars... and hyperactive anime heroines. Victory takes things to the 80s, though, so don't expect any references to Sony and Microsoft's upcoming battle.

"NISAs very high quality translation and dub work makes the humor of the writing really pop out. I feel as if over the course of these three games, I have gotten to know these girls and their personalities really well. This series have quickly become one of my favorites in gaming due to the uniqueness of the story and setting. This game may not be for everyone; if you are not a fan of anime style games or JRPGs you will likely want to pass on this title. If you are a fan of this style of game, or you love a good JRPG, you will definitely want to pick up Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory as soon as possible."

Tyler Treese writes: "In this form, stats are increased substantially and so is the characters bust line. Seriously. The young girls are transformed into scantily clad women who wear battle gear that is intended more for fashion than function. I'm not sure why Compile Heart decided to go in this direction, but its a franchise staple and it contributes to far too many excessively sexual scenes (including a group bath)."
