If theres one thing you dont know about me from all of my Injustice: Gods Among Us news coverage, its that Im a huge comic fan. Ive been practically born and raised on of capes, magic rings, and lassos of truth, DC Comics being my first invitation to geek culture as a child. Im also a huge fan of NetherRealms 2011s Mortal Kombat reboot, which I felt did an adequate job of streamlining the needlessly complex plot, and tweaked the gameplay fairly well from years of stagnant or stale development. So could NetherRealm also improve upon their Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe fighter with Injustice? Does Injustice take you up, up, and away, or will you rue the day you purchased this game?

Injustice probably won't be making the pro-fighting game circuits any time soon, but it's an important fighter nonetheless. The team at NetherRealm actively tried to bring something new to the fighting game arena (haw) and their increased emphasis on environmental play did exactly that.

Game Rant: "The fighting systems are very accessible, and work well within the context of these iconic heroes, and the interactive backgrounds take combat to another level, turning each fight into a fittingly epic throwdown. Some fighting game purists might find that the game has a few too many 'cheap' moves, including the level interactions and transitions, but DC Comics fans will love the chaotic super-powered mayhem. NZGamer: "Injustice is an incredibly fun bit of fantasy fulfilment as you get to test Earths mightiest heroes (cough) against each other. It is also a very dark look at these heroes and villains. As you fight you gain bloody damage and the end scenes for some of the villains can be quite disturbing, unless you think the Joker setting fire to someone is something youd like to see over and over."
