Insomniac's Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive confirmed for 2014

Added: 23.11.2013 19:22 | 1 views | 0 comments

indicates that Ratchet amp; Clank and Resistance developer Insomniac is set to release Sunset Overdrive in 2014.

The announcement was made with little fanfare, with Microsoft simply stating that we should "Expect more huge launches as well, with the release of next-generation experiences, such as 'Titanfall,' 'Project Spark' and 'Sunset Overdrive' in 2014."

Insomniac's next big intellectual property, Sunset Overdrive, is a cartoonish, open-world shooter. A trailer for the game was first shown during Microsoft's press conference at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo, displaying a character running through an animated world and making use of various weapons.

Sunset Overdrive will be exclusive to the Xbox One. This is dramatic shift for developer Insomniac, which in the previous generation was known mostly for its Sony PlayStation exclusives, Resistance and Ratchet amp; Clank.

Ratchet Clank: Into the Nexus Review | SpawnFirst

Scott Barker of SpawnFirst reviews Ratchet Clank: Into the Nexus: "Ratchet Clank: Into The Nexus ends just when it feels like it's reaching its midway point. It is half the usual asking price of a normal retail release, hence the reason why it feels like half a Ratchet Clank game. Still, though, it's a fun romp that lasts approximately 6 hours, and to make up for the missing six hours Insomniac have been kind enough to include Quest For Booty. "

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One-exclusive from Insomniac Games, Sunset Overdrive, will launch in 2014.

Over on Xbox Wire, the company is touting its software lineup for next year, saying, "with the release of next-generation experiences, such as Titanfall, Project Spark and Sunset Overdrive in 2014." Insomniac's latest release, Fuse, wasn't particularly loved by critics, so here's to hoping the studio's first Xbox One exclusive hits it out of the park.
