From GamesReviews:
"Since Ratchet and Clank propelled Insomniac into the role of Masters of Weaponry, theyve done everything they could to hold onto the title. Fuse is the video game form of their attempts. From the very beginning, mad weaponry is not only a feature of the game but the game itself, embodying not just your actions and means of attack, but the plot and design as well.
Unfortunately, this isnt enough."

| Opinion: Top-tier developers cannot rely on former glory for PS4

At the end of the last generation, the gaming industry was in a different shape. Between first- and third-person shooters, racers, and sports titles, there were platformers. On PlayStation 2, the genre was led by three all-star development teams: Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch. A generation later, the genre is near-enough dead, but not all has changed: those three developers that brought the genre to life years ago are still here. For better and for worse, however, their output is not what it once was.

FPS Guru writes:
'It can be pretty hard to stand out in the face shooter genre these days. Of all the genres out there, it is easily the one receiving the most attention, with people pumping out everything from MMOFPSs to TPS strategy hybrids to cooperative arcade-y slaughterfests. Every one wants a piece of the face shooter pie. Insomniac Games, who is no stranger to making face shooters has teamed up with Electronic Arts to bring us their most recent entry in the genre: Fuse.'

T.J. Fixman, the writer responsible for bringing life and personality to Sony's Ratchet & Clank series, is saying goodbye to developer Insomniac Games.
In a blog post, Fixman explained why he has decided to move on, saying that he's now interested in working in mediums other than gaming. Fortunately, he will still be working with Insomniac in some capacity, as the upcoming Ratchet & Clank feature film won't be launching until 2015.
I can look at my time at Insomniac and feel like I've done what I set out to do there. As for other mediums, I feel like I'm just getting started. I'm excited by movies and television. I want to get back into graphic novel writing. I want to develop different projects with new characters and stories and worlds I can explore. Right now I have the opportunity to try all of it, and when you're handed a gift like that, you have to grab onto it with both hands.
Do you think the Ratchet & Clank series will still have a future with Fixman gone? What do you think is in store for Insomniac Games in the coming years? Let us know in the comments below.
