Microsoft demonstrates new HoloLens prototype, talks up dedicated Holographic processor

Added: 07.05.2015 2:17 | 7 views | 0 comments

Microsoft unveiled new prototypes and details of its HoloLens project this week, and the new technology looks like it could have a profound impact on how we use computers in the future. Like the Oculus Rift, the HoloLens system is headset-based, but thats where the similarities end. Where Oculus Rift creates entire 3D realms to explore (virtual reality), HoloLens is meant to create holographic overlays over existing objects and structure in the real world (Augmented Reality). Microsoft had previously showed off its HoloLens technology, but the January demos relied on bulky equipment. The new prototypes are, dare we say it, rather sleek. The fact that HoloLens is only meant to augment real-life rather than completely replace it means that theres no need for a screen and face-covering

Electronic Arts, before its investors conference call concerning its most recent earnings report, has revealed the above schedule for its console and PC releases this year.

As plainly presented, both a new Mirror's Edge and Plants vs. Zombies are slated for a Q4 release, which runs between January and March in 2016. Broken Age Act 2 Review - BGU

Added: 28.04.2015 14:17 | 9 views | 0 comments

Paul James of BGU writes "The experience I had with Broken Age Act 1 in 2014 was one of the more enjoyable periods of time in a game Id had in that year. Clever puzzles, and narrative that on the surface seemed simplistic, only to expand into something far more powerful as the story came to a close were among the many highlights of the January 2014 title. We were promised narrative closure in the form of a second act, but the time between the two acts has now exceeded a year so my first recommendation to anyone wishing to play Broken Age Act 2 is to replay Act 1, get yourself up to speed and then kick on with Act 2."

NBA 2K14 Servers Brought Back Online Following Complaints

Added: 08.04.2015 10:26 | 8 views | 0 comments

2K Games has temporarily restored online services to its basketball sim , 2K Games support representatives sent emails to customers explaining that they could still play the game in offline mode, albeit with a new save file. This meant that all progress in the game was lost.

But on Tuesday evening, the publisher sent a notice to GameSpot explaining that the servers have been restored and will remain live for another nine months. It means that the same save files will become inaccessible again, in January 2016, but players now have more time to finish their single-player career modes.

2K Games also announced that it is extending the online lifespan of all subsequent NBA 2K games from 18 to 27 months.

"It gives our players more time to experience and enjoy the highest rated NBA simulation video game franchise," a statement read.

"The opinions of our community continue to have a positive impact on our business decisions as we strive to create the best possible experience for all of our fans.”
