Dance Central Spotlight Review | Hardcore Gamer

Added: 05.09.2014 2:12 | 3 views | 0 comments

When Dance Central debuted on Xbox 360, it was effectively the only reason to own a Kinect. Of course, most early Xbox One adopters have the latest Kinect and little to do with it. As such, Dance Central Spotlight launched at just the right time - before everyone starts getting Kinect-less systems. How does it compare to past entries? Does it evolve itself enough to still be worth a purchase after three iterations? Yes, there are changes, but whether or not youll find them good or bad depends on your stance toward DLC.

Better With Kinect

Added: 05.09.2014 0:12 | 3 views | 0 comments

GamingLives' Tim puts forward his argument that while Microsoft may have gone about the Xbox One launch the wrong way, there are still a reported five million people with Kinect who are being overlooked. "Yes, I concur Kinect 2.0 still veers a little on the temperamental side (space and latency issues are still present if not deal-breakers), and I understand the criticisms of bundling the unit with the Xbox One console. But at the same time, I also see the positives. With parity between the number of Kinects and the number of Xbox Ones theres more financial viability for developers to make more, better games for it, and in a time when audiences are craving more creativity, Kinect could have been the key to unlocking it, maybe going so far as to aid the discovery of new genres."

Dance Central: Spotlight Review | CheatCC

CCC Says: "Name an awesome Kinect game. OK, now name an awesome Kinect game that isnt Dance Central. Its been several years since the Kinect came out, and Dance Central is still the best reason to own the motion control peripheral. This franchise has completely steamrolled over Rock Band as gamers rhythm game of choice, and every installment has just gotten better and better, with bigger track lists and more modes. However, Dance Central: Spotlight, the newest installment of the series, didnt try to blow up the experience. Rather, it was cut down, pulled back to its core gameplay and marketed as a downloadable only title. On the upside, you can now get Dance Central for an absurdly cheap price, but on the downside, you are just getting much less game."

Gaming Trend Editor Ron Burke concludes: So back to the original posit that this newest generation of consoles is filling up with HD remakes. At a cost of $1.99 per track times ten tracks, you are essentially getting the game for free and the tracks at half price. This update to the Xbox One costs less than two cups of coffee and is far more than just a new coat of paint. Come for the new and improved features, stay for the far better soundtrack.
