TJ:
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is what so many big budget games try and fail to be. Densely packed but not padded with filler content, graphically beautiful yet sleek in its performance, and evocative of Hollywood blockbusters without misunderstanding both the mediums of movies and videogames.

CGM:
When it comes to gameplay, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is undoubtedly the most polished and enjoyable entry in the series. Its a shame, however, that it entirely abandons the eccentricities, zaniness, and terrific storytelling that this franchise is known for. This doesnt feel like a Metal Gear game, but rather an entirely new project that series creator Hideo Kojima so obviously wanted to make. Its just simply called Metal Gear Solid.

Kotaku:
"Here, obtained by Kotaku, is exclusive footage of Venom Snake breaking into Konamis headquarters and extracting Metal Gear Solid designer Hideo Kojima from his office.
Just kidding. Thats side-op 112 (Intel Agent Extraction) from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. But also its a pretty good metaphor. Youre free now, Kojima. Youre free."
