It was bittersweet to see the story end, but it did so on an epic (and violent) note. Instead of the series continuing with a new protagonist or mythology, we have a prequel to a story that I felt pretty comfortable with already. Ascension ends up being a sadly mediocre game, and I expected more."

Fans would love this entry. We find out more about Kratos while revisiting the God of War universe. Unfortunately, there isnt much new here, and God of War Ascension lacks the punch of its predecessors. Being spoiled by the typical larger than life bosses, The Furies just dont quite compare to Ares, Zeus, or even the Colossus. There are the usual God of War elements, but aside from an awesome multiplayer, there isnt much innovation in this late stage PS3 title. Weve seen all this before, but at least its still a beautiful sight.
