God of War: Ascension Review [GamingLives]

Added: 09.04.2013 10:18 | 19 views | 0 comments

GamingLives takes on God of War: Ascension and has to think happy thoughts... lots of happy thoughts. "God of War: Ascension makes me a very angry man. It makes me angrier much angrier than any title Ive played before in fact, it turns out that every time I think about the fourth part of Kratos saga I quickly become rather irate. Ascension is a prologue, taking place before the events of the God of War Trilogy. This it was said would take players back to the very beginning of Kratos tale, outlining his back-story and explaining why he is such a very angry man. That, however, requires a narrative that makes sense, and unfortunately it takes a while for Ascension to really get into the swing of things as far as story is concerned."

God of War Ascension Review | Ready-Up

Added: 02.04.2013 14:18 | 25 views | 0 comments

Ready-up writes: 'So who pissed him off this time? Ares! Mightve known. It seems Kratos wishes to break his blood oath with the God of War Ares. His reluctance to servitude causes the God of the Underworld, Hades to set The Furies on him. They seek to imprison Kratos in the Prison of the Damned - a prison re-purposed from the petrified body of the Titan who betrayed Zeus, Aegaeon. Ascension opens with Kratos bound in chains having been tortured for months. Tormented and plagued by visions of his wife and child, he aims to break the oath and seek revenge by first escaping the titanic prison and then to forge a path of havoc and revenge.'

God of War Ascension Review | Game Over Online

Added: 30.03.2013 12:18 | 25 views | 0 comments

Game Over Online: "God of War: Ascension isnt a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but considering its lineage, it feels like a step back rather than a step forward. We know this isnt Kratos last hurrah, but heres hoping he comes back with a vengeance."

God of War: Ascension Review | Nerdluster

Added: 27.03.2013 22:18 | 22 views | 0 comments

Nerdluster: I currently sit at a crossroads with God of War: Ascension; as a fan who's played many of the God of War titles I can't quite recommend it as a well as I'd like to. The cinematic storyline and soundtrack feel as though they'd be better suited for a linear experience like a movie and not a video game. As Kratos you only have a single path and deviation is not accepted. Most video games are linear experiences true but Ascension and other God of War titles follow a well defined script that often leaves you feeling as though you don't have much control.

Review: God Of War: Ascension [eGamer]

Added: 27.03.2013 15:19 | 7 views | 0 comments

eGamer writes: "God of War: Ascension is best described as a lukewarm experience. The single-player campaign doesnt do a whole lot to impress apart from visually, and nothing really stands out. Its still good, its still God of War, but its a noticeably weaker offering than its predecessors, and isnt all that memorable. On the other hand, the multiplayer is surprisingly entertaining, and a sure highlight of the game. To be honest, if youre here only because you want more Kratos and God of War, then Ascension will be enough for you and youll both enjoy it and be satisfied. But if you wanted something to rival or better God of War III, and its predecessors, you definitely wont find it here. Ascension is for Kratos die-hards and those who love new multiplayer experiences, because that part of the game is really good."
