Review: God Of War: Ascension [eGamer]

Added: 27.03.2013 15:18 | 3 views | 0 comments

eGamer writes: "God of War: Ascension is best described as a lukewarm experience. The single-player campaign doesnt do a whole lot to impress apart from visually, and nothing really stands out. Its still good, its still God of War, but its a noticeably weaker offering than its predecessors, and isnt all that memorable. On the other hand, the multiplayer is surprisingly entertaining, and a sure highlight of the game. To be honest, if youre here only because you want more Kratos and God of War, then Ascension will be enough for you and youll both enjoy it and be satisfied. But if you wanted something to rival or better God of War III, and its predecessors, you definitely wont find it here. Ascension is for Kratos die-hards and those who love new multiplayer experiences, because that part of the game is really good."

About: "I like Ascension and those of you curious about whether or not Kratos works with multiplayer, the answer is yes, but the game feels overly familiar, like deleted scenes from the far-more-essential trilogy. You should play it, but only after you've played the entirety of the other five games first."

GamerTell Review: God of War: Ascension

From the review, "The God of War is starting to show his age. God of War: Ascension is the seventh game in franchise, and takes us all the way back to the beginnings of Kratos defiance to the gods. Even with an all-new plot, GoW: Ascension fails to captivate the imaginations and attention of players who fell in love with the GoW 1-3. Its obvious the same amount of passion wasnt burning through Sony Santa Monica this time around. While the game is still visually lovely and technically sound, most everything else is generic at this point."

God of War: Ascension Review An Impressive Action Experience | Unigamesity

God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the God of War series and it reveals how everything begun. It goes back to the past, to the very moment of Kratos punishment for breaking his blood oath with the god of war, Ares. The story is based on Greek Mythology, as the previous games, and players assume the role of Kratos, a fearless Spartan general who will fight for revenge and freedom; deceiving a god doesnt seem like an easy chore to accomplish but for Kratos nothing is out of reach.

God of War: Ascension Review [Plus XP]

Leon from Plus XP writes "fter the conclusion of God of War III, it was a little bit unclear as to how the series would continue in later installments. While its ending was somewhat ambiguous and suggested there could be more to come, it was announced that the next title - God of War: Ascension - would be the first home console entry in the series to be a prequel, whereas Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta were both originally PSP titles that told sub-plots set in-between main entries. Not only that, Ascension would be the prequel, set before any of the other games thus far, looking deeper into the roots of Kratos lust for vengeance. This idea excited me, as Kratos humanity is always something that the series could expand upon the more we understand Kratos sense of loss, the more we can understand his rage. Chains of Olympus was perhaps the best example of this so far, focusing on Kratos relationship with his daughter, Calliope. The live action trailer for Ascension focu...

God of War PS2 came in and left us all open-mouthed. With a fantastic protagonist and an original, was one of the most remarkable games of the past generation, then continue to mark consoles like the PSP and PS3 games with great quality. The story of God of War marked by revenge is not exactly rich in many details, your gameplay is indeed far superior to everything else that one can find in the game, but the thread that unites all the games in the series is interesting enough to keep us stuck to the game. Ascension is a prequel to the trilogy that ended in 2010 with the release of God of War III. It is indeed the first since the games released for the PSP were also, but this is one that goes further back in history going back more than Kratos, shortly after the death of his family. It is also at this time that Kratos begins to doubt Ares, the God of War, and undermines the covenant he made with him. If you played the previous can see that this is so far the ultimate God of War Zero.
