As the toys to life genre has blossomed over the years with games like Skylanders and Disney Infinity, I've grown a little weary. I don't like the idea of having to spend hundreds of dollars on toys that will eventually end up in a box next to my plastic guitar controllers and my old Ninja Turtle figures. However, after playing through Lego Dimension's latest build at this year's PAX, I discovered several reasons to drop some of my hard earned cash on these adorable little buildable sets.

Levi Rubeck - "Submerged is skeletal and unoiled. It is damned by competence: a short story that checks the boxes, but in doing so leaves no mark. I fell asleep twice while playing it, shaken awake by Mikus worsening cough, just looking to fix up Taku and motorboat out as fast as possible. Its a game that has no ambition and says nothing, and through that, quietly stumbles, erodes, and disappears, leaving no impression, no haunting memories."

GR:
At first glance, the mere concept of a Telltale adventure in a Minecraft world, which emphasizes player freedom and is devoid of voice-acting, might seem like a stretch in terms of narrative and dialogue choice. But similar criticisms could have been lobbed at The Lego Movie, yet that movie was able to craft a dimensional cross-over extravaganaza with a titular character voiced by Chris Pratt that was altogether a favorite for both fans and critics. Minecraft: Story Mode aims to do the same thing in the video game space, with the player controlling a protagonist named Jesse, voiced by Patton Oswalt, who must save the world from an Ender Dragon.

Leon from DJ Podcasts writes "The Real Time Strategy is a strange beast of a genre, I suspect it always will be. Theres something about it which can really work for some, not for others. They on a whole, challenge people to think in a very different way. The very best of the genre plays with this wonderfully, the lesser titles dance with them, to a different beat. Though I might have started after titles like Dune 2000 and Command and Conquer were released, this is a field I have enjoyed for a long time. I suspect I will enjoy it for many years to come."

Hello friends! PAX Prime is upon us, which means that weve got long days and long nights ahead, and hope to spend many of them with many of you. Due to the holiday weekend, weve got a quick update this week, but well talk about a new Halo 5 Arena map, the latest MCC playlist update, and more.
Before we move on, just yesterday, we brought Halo 5: Guardians to the ID@Xbox event at the Xbox HQ in Redmond, and it was a pleasure having some of you join us for the pre-PAX festivities. If you joined, you were likely able to snag some game time, plus limited edition Chief Locke posters and pins from Frankie and Josh Holmes as well. We hope you had a great time, and we thank you for spending your evening with us. Lets do it again some time.

The independent developer program for Xbox games was released in 2014. Since then, there have been a slew of games by smaller organisations. Original and unique titles like Beyond Eyes and Leos Fortune has brought a raft of creativity and encouraged smaller developers to grow.
Today, ID@Xbox has announced that these games have hit the 100 mark. Microsoft Community Manager Alex Judd happily said Congratulations to all of our partners who have launched games already, and to all those still in progress, keep it up! Thanks for all the hard work.
With upcoming games such as Cuphead and Blues and Bullets, there is sure to be continued success in the independent developer community.
