The Year of Luigi continues with Dr. Luigi, an all-new title headed to the Wii U eShop on December 31. Dr. Luigi will play similarly to the classic Dr. Mario, but Luigi will dropped L-shaped capsules. Various modes will be available, including online play, a classic mode similar to Dr. Mario, and a new Virus Buster mode. Nintendo is also releasing a new Luigi statue on Club Nintendo fans to celebrate the Year of Luigi, which president Satoru Iwata says will continue into 2014.

Earlier today Nintendo rolled out some new content and media for games planned to release on their upcoming platforms, including games like Dr. Luigi and The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors. Well, not to be forgotten in the mix is one of the more highly anticipated games set for release in 2014 for the Wii U and it's Mario Kart 8.

Not only did Mr. Iwata show off multiple new eShop titles coming out before the end of the year, but he also managed to name-drop Yoshis New Island, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Bravely Default, and even Super Smash Bros. 4. He brought (free) DLC to the mix, and he revisited some Nintendo classics. Mr. Iwata presented new games like Hyrule Warriors (working title) and Dr. Luigi while updating recent releases like Wii Sports Club. In other words, Mr. Iwata had a little bit of everything for everyone.
