"I think in movies, television, and the gaming world, you get some people that are really, really passionate, and some people that are just going through the paces. [Sega and Gearbox Software] think that because they have a brand name they#146;re going to get a hit game or hit movie out of it. That certainly was the situation on [Aliens: Colonial Marines]," he said.
The actor compared his role on A:CM with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon in the piece. He described his work on the latter with the game's creative director Dean Evans as a great experience thanks to Evans' "interesting and creative presence".
"Dean is such an interesting and creative presence. He was talking to me about the game and the fact that it was an #146;80s throwback, and there would be a lot of lines that were Arnold Schwarzenegger-like, that were [Sylvester] Stallone-like, Bruce Willis, myself. Those kind of lines, that kind of vibe, and the fact that it was going to be a throwback to the #146;80s was something that I thought was interesting. But really it was his passion, man."
Aliens: Colonial Marines was against Gearbox Software and Sega, accusing the companies of misrepresenting the game to consumers with false advertising.

One of the really big action stars from the 80s and 90s has been in a few big video games as of late. He was in the big budget Aliens: Colonial Marines and the low-budget Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon... the actor and director was not very pleased with working on the big budget game.

Game Informer: "Nostalgia is a valuable currency in the video game industry. Nintendos biggest titles stick to decades-old formulas, and the indie scene is overflowing with pixelated throwbacks. Earlier this year, Ubisoft took a different approach to the 80s homage with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The standalone digital title combines the eras iron-studded, fluorescent action films with Far Cry 3s superb gameplay. Blood Dragon stands as an anomaly, both in terms of its aesthetic and marketing strategy. This is the story of how it all came together under the guidance of Ubisofts passionate 1980s savant, Dean Evans. Its also the story of how Aliens: Colonial Marines nearly turned Michael Biehn, voice of Rex Colt, off from working in video games entirely, and how Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener helped inspire Ubisofts experiment."
