Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Review - Vooks

Vooks: The Monster Hunter series is one Ive always admired from afar. For the longest time, I understood that it was a huge game in Japan, as well as relatively popular in the West and this was for a good reason I just hadnt discovered yet. The first Monster Hunter I ever dipped my toes into was Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U and for a time I found it to be an immensely satisfying game but also one whose mechanics I found difficult to truly understand. It felt fantastic to emerge victorious from a hunt, but the game assumed a lot of prior knowledge and so I never quite penetrated the depths of hunting technique and shortly lost interest. Along came Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the 3DS which I suspected would suffer the same fate, but which instead has identified some of the shortcomings of past games and improved the experience for new players remarkably. I finally feel like I completely understand why Monster Hunters fans are so enthused about the franchise.

RPGamer: Eat, sleep, hunt monsters, repeat. Such is the life of a hunter in Capcom's Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The latest in the company's beast-slaying series brings with it a polished core from the previous entries, along with a variety of new monsters and features that refine the experience to make it the most approachable games in the series. The game adds a straightforward and entertaining story, combined with refinements to tutorials and early missions which should help new players get past the game's steep learning curve. It's a refined, beautiful, and exceptionally entertaining experience that stands head and shoulders above not only other entries in the series, but most other RPGs on the 3DS.

| Nintendo and Take-Two shine in a quiet February - UK Charts
Added: 07.03.2015 17:19 | 10 views | 0 comments
MCV UK:
In spite of a few big releases this February, the games market is tracking behind last year.
1.4m games were sold last month, representing a seven per cent decline year-on-year. Meanwhile software revenue slipped 1.8 per cent to £39.1m.
Game sales have generally been slow this year, with Evolve and The Order not selling as well as some stores had been hoping for.
It was a big month for Nintendo. The platform holder released two new versions of its 3DS console, and the remake of cult favourite The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask was the single best-selling game of the month. This and Capcom's Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate helped the 3DS nearly double its market share in terms of revenue and units sold.

As cool as some of the armor in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate looks, it doesn't allow players to live out their fantasies as Link from The Legend of Zelda series. Capcom hopes to remedy that with DLC.

| Game of the Month February 2015
Added: 06.03.2015 20:29 | 13 views | 0 comments
Continuing the trend of providing great gaming experiences all year long and not limiting big releases to just the fall, February had a lot of strong contenders for game of the month. version also opens up the ability for online co-op. And even if you don't have a full group of real-life players, you can bring along up to two customizable Palico companions to fight with you. February had two great ways to hunt Monsters with your friends, but Monster Hunter's customization options and hundreds of hours of content make it the game that you won't be playing just for the month, you're going to play it all year.
