Shane Ryan, Thunderbolt writes:
Outlast is the independent debut from studio Red Barrels. It tells the story of journalist Miles Upshur. Hes been tipped off about malpractice at the old Mount Massive Asylum, now a centre of private scientific research. He breaks into the building to investigate in the hope of a big scoop carrying only a portable HD video camera with optional night vision. What follows is a series of scenes that had my chest tighten and palms sweat in panic.

Its been a good year for Disney platformers, and now, a balanced one. First there was Duck Tales Remastered for NES owners, and now Megadrive/Genesis players get their own trip back in time with Castle of Illusion. Where Duck Tales was a relatively straight remake though, Segas approach is more of a reimagining - one that retreads much of the original game, but is happy to borrow ideas from games released this side of 1990 instead of just wearing their graphics.
