Rahman writes -"Without trying to state the obvious, wars are terrible things. Fighting, killing, soldier against soldier. Sometimes entire nations are against each other, while civil wars make countries tear themselves apart. Many games refuse to acknowledge the grittier side of war, when it isnt all about bursting into houses guns a blazing, shooting bad people for democracy. In the wake of modern war games such as the Call of Duty and Battlefield series, many gamers have simply become unaware of the horrors of war. There have been some games that arent afraid to gut punch the player and open their eyes to reality (Spec Ops: The Line is possibly the most prominent example, also being one of the most harrowing gaming experiences Ive had). But a good ninety percent of war games always focus on the soldiers, on the fighting and so on. This War of Mine aims to fill the gap left in this genre, and focuses on a group of refugees trying to survive a civil war."

| Jet Car Stunts HD Review - Mouse n Joypad
Added: 10.10.2014 0:12 | 4 views | 0 comments
Will writes -"Echoes of the Jet Car Stunts original platform, the iPhone, are obvious. The game runs at 1080p, but the visuals otherwise lackluster. A low-poly car drives through a floating world of single tone boxes, in a bland skybox. Controls are responsive, but they arent translated to the controller perfectly. If you attempt to accelerate before a levels starting countdown is finished you wont move. It wasnt too much trouble getting used to this, but it is a bit of a nuisance for a game built on time trials. Steering is a binary affair. You will turn at the same rate regardless of how far you have tilted the control stick. In Jet Car Stunts HD you will be racing through short platforming levels."

Seriously, a studio of ex-Rovio hats, has released its casual, free to play, tile-matching puzzler Best Fiends for iOS.
It's a story-driven if quite traditional puzzler mixed with RPG-like character progression.
It follows the story of a band of bugs fighting against the Slugs of Mount Boom in order to save their families.
Each puzzle has you matching tiles of the same nature-based icon -...

| Independent Websites Being Pushed Out
Added: 09.10.2014 13:12 | 6 views | 0 comments
Mouse n Joypad recently asked major developers and publishers about their policy changes towards independent websites. Sites on which they can't control the score or opinions of their products. Johnny writes - "Independent sites that provide honest opinions are just as important in this industry as independent developers, otherwise every game would get the same good score through payment, and big companies would just go on releasing yearly upgrades to old IPs and we would lose the imagination and creativity of the Indie developers."

| Styx: Master Of Shadows Review - Mouse n Joypad
Added: 07.10.2014 21:12 | 11 views | 0 comments
Johnny writes - "Styx Master Of Shadows is not a terrible experience, it just could have been better. Do away with the mistake of that terrible parry system, put in more checkpoints and pay more attention to detail and this could have easily been a hit straight out of the gate. However, for the purists out there Styx played in Goblin mode does not get any better, you will be tested to your limits of sneaking about in the murky shadows, trying to find your next fix of amber. This is another case of being stuck between a rock and a hard place, but I have to say that if you are a fan of the genre, then you must have it, for others it may just prove to frustrating due mainly to the combat. | The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter Review - Mouse n Joypad
Added: 05.10.2014 11:12 | 9 views | 0 comments
Gale write -"My first playing session of this game had me going wow all the time. The amount of details on everything was astounding the textures were rich, forests felt alive and colours amazingly vivid. I knew this game was special right from the start, but in what manner that was still a mystery to me. So I kept playing, astounded by the masterfully crafted world Paul Prospero, the protagonist, found himself in. The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter is a detective story of sorts, but one thats deeply entwined with eldritch lore established by the likes of Lovecraft in a very intricate way. This is no horror game not in the traditional sense at least, as you have very little to fear while playing it."

| Warmachine Tactics Preview - Mouse n Joypad
Added: 05.10.2014 0:12 | 7 views | 0 comments
Will writes - "Warmachine Tactics is Privateer Presss foray into electronic gaming. They have taken one of Privateer Presss most popular tabletop games, and translated the core gameplay on to PC with a fair amount of success. By translating core gameplay I dont mean bringing the tabletop game in its exact form onto a virtual board. There are simply a different set of dynamics at play when you sit down at your computer to play a video game vs. sitting around a table with friends."
