Review: Flyhunter Origins

While the rest of the games world returns to the raw pixels of yesteryear for its platformers, Steel Wool Games has gone in the opposite direction.
Flyhunter Origins is a triumph of smartphone gaming animation, which isn't altogether surprising given that actual Pixar animators are the driving force behind it.
But astonishing graphics are almost suspicious these days. We've been dazzled by ...

GR: Given the choice between fantasy and science fiction, Im more likely to sway towards science fiction and the foreign galaxies that allow for alien races, intergalactic laser fighting, and BioWares admittedly fantastic ability to weave the familiar with unknown races and forces in the Mass Effect series. It was Mass Effect 2 that got me to hungrily play through the original game before diving into the sequel and the finale. While the developers fantasy outings have received a lot of attention, I havent actually played Dragon Age: Origins or its embattled sequel, but it's about time I remedied that.
It was the number of new IPs that lost Dragon Age in the shuffle, at least for me and my own grasp of the franchise. Starting new for Dragon Age: Inquisition meant suspending any preconceived notions I had of the series. Thus, whether Morgan and Hawke carried their own plot lines into Dragon Age: Inquisition didnt matter as much to me, but this will certainly carry weight for l...

| Prelude to Dragon Age Inquisition: The Tapestry and Dragon Age The Last Court

Technology Tell writes, "As I went through the Tapestry I was reminded of just how vast Dragon Age Origins was, as well as how selective my memory is. I remembered the big stuff: who I romanced, who killed the archdemon, who I recruited. Other things I had forgotten entirely, and I had to try to put myself back in the mindset of the 2009-model Eric and guess what that rascal wouldve done. I dont remember if I chose Harrowmont or Bhelen to rule the dwarven kingdom of Orzammar, though I remember not liking either of them. I didnt even remember Alistair had a half-sister Goldanna, let alone whether I helped him find her or not. The urn of sacred ashes, the arl of Redcliffe, so much of it is a blur, not to mention all the DLC. There were so many decisions effecting so many characters that I have a hard time believing many of them will have any real ramifications in the world of Dragon Age: Inquisition, though that may just be Dragon Age II talking."

Flyhunter Origins leaps like a hunter with a net onto iOS tonight. We presume that it will also make an appearance on Android tomorrow too, but we don't know at this point.
It's an action platformer that we took a hands-on look at when at Gamescom last year.
It excels in its animation due to being made by people who have worked, or still do work, at Pixar. At the time, the rest of the game's...

Dragon Age: Inquisitions predecessors Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II represent two separate visions of the franchise. The first is a sprawling tribute to old-school PC RPGs, while the second is a compact and action-oriented experience tailored to consoles. Though fans may wonder which of those entries Inquisition most resembles, the answer is ultimately irrelevant; Inquisition cant be reduced to a simple meeting point between two extremes. Instead of trying to reconcile every difference, BioWare strides into new territory for an expansive and unforgettable journey.
