| Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Review | GameCloud

Patrick of GameCloud writes:
"There were so many excellent parts to this game that, otherwise, just didnt fit together, and likely because they were prevented from grooving together by all of the forced nostalgia that was crammed in. It tried too hard to cling to tried and true methods, regardless of whether or not they fit in with the rest of the game, or were under-developed for what they were supposed to accomplish. It was still fun to play, but probably not as much as it was the first time we played it as Donkey Kong Country Returns. Tropical Freeze isnt a bad game, by the standards of most platformers that get released these days, its above average. For all its faults, it still delivered challenging platforming, which is mission accomplished on at least providing the core of what a platforming game should be."

"Sound your favorite victory jingle, another collaborative effort among videogame composers and musicians has been successfully funded on Kickstarter.
Entitled Just Fun, the album is headed up by none other than Deus Ex lead composer Alexander Brandon, and features original work by over a dozen collaborators, including Jake Virt Kaufman (Double Dragon Neon, Retro City Rampage), Danny Baranowsky (Super Meat Boy), Erik Peabody (Viking Guitar) and Grant Stemage Henry (Metroid Metal, LONELYROLLINGSTARS).
Brandon, who has also worked on the music for games like Unreal Tournament, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and most recently Dust: An Elysian Tail, sees Just Fun as an opportunity to create a 45-minute album spanning several genres, including pop, rock, jazz and 8-bit chiptune." - Patrick Kulikowski

| The Pixelitis Podcast Ep. 71 Lil Stephens Sleepy Sojourn
Added: 06.03.2014 5:18 | 3 views | 0 comments
"After the runaway train that was last weeks Pixelitis Podcast, youd think everyone on this weeks show would bring their A-game. Time to prove to the internet masses that were a lively bunch of game enthusiasts with opinions that matter.
But apparently if you bring up the Metal Gear Solid series, then one of our own goes the way of Rip Van Winkle. We wont say who, exactly, but I think you can pretty much guess from some rather overt clues
Regardless of that Pixelitis Podcast first, this weeks show once again features special guest Jason Poage, along with hosts Andrew Martins, Patrick Kulikowski and Stephen Hilger.
So be sure to take some No-Doz and evade the Sandman in preparation for the Pixelitis Podcast. As always, feel free to hit play below. Dont forget to subscribe to us on iTunes and Stitcher Radio." - Pixelitis Staff
