The Dark Side Of Pokemon | GameCloud

Patrick at GameCloud writes: "Its no secret that Pokemon is messed up and that the people who inhabit the world the games take place in are negligent towards animals at best, and at worst are horrible animal abusers with seemingly no moral limits as far as their animal companions are concerned. Because the series has been so long running, there are already so many different theories and ideas about what really goes on in this universe, but these barely scratch the surface"

| Weekly Digital: Contra III and 16-bit badassery
Added: 01.12.2013 6:17 | 21 views | 0 comments
"While everyone recovers from the feasting of Thursday and the rampant consumerism of Black Friday, game companies are still fueling the flames with some digital gaming deals and new releases.
Nintendo dropped a few classic bombshells on Thanksgiving Day, with Konamis Contra III: The Alien Wars making its way to the Wii U Virtual Console. That game is so badass that it lets the player strike a pose during its most explosive moments by simply holding L and R down. Sega has also joined the party with 3D versions of Space Harrier and Super Hang-On, both of which are must-haves for any Sega fan. Rounding out the eShop this week are a bunch of discounts on various Mario titles.
Sony is offering Soul Sacrifice for free to all PlayStation Plus users, as well as a bevy discounts on different versions of Dragons Crown and Persona. Meanwhile, PlayStation Vita continues to keep JRPGs relevant with the release of Ys: Memories of Celceta." - Patrick Kulikowski

"There's reason to believe that the next cycle might be shorter," says SCE boss.
"I think there's reasons to believe that the next cycle might be shorter in markets such as the UK," SCE UK MD Fergal Gara told Techradar speaking about the PS4 launch.
"It's probably a sign of the times and how much has changed in seven years, but I think the willingness and the appetite to pick up new technology fast has probably changed quite a bit."
Gara's comments come a day after EA exec Patrick Soderlund suggested that new consoles could arrive in 5-6 years' time – somewhat sooner than the 7-8 year cycle of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

| Stereotypes, brawls, and not taking things seriously: An interview with Handsome Woman Productions about Ultimate Gay Fighter
Added: 28.11.2013 16:36 | 4 views | 0 comments
Ultimate Gay Fighter isn't your typical fighting game. It stars a cast of flamboyant characters, each based on a stereotype or cliché, battling it out to win the Gay Fight championship.
It's a thorny area, so I caught up with Handsome Woman Productions founder Michael Patrick to find out what he thinks about some of the accusations that have been put to the game since its announcement.
