| Weekly Digital: Moonwalking up stairs never gets old
Added: 02.11.2013 19:18 | 12 views | 0 comments
"With Halloween occurring this week, it was no surprise to see lots of appropriately themed digital releases and sales on PSN, eShop, XBLA and Steam.
Konami has finally decided to show its face on the Wii U Virtual Console, releasing the classic Super Castlevania IV for $8, or $1.50 if you already have it transferred from your Wii. You ought to give the official eShop trailer a gander. Whoever made that knows what makes the game especially great: the fact that you can moonwalk up staircases. The game also happens to have one of the best SNES soundtracks in existence, you should read my loving Liner Notes piece on it.
PSN and Xbox Live users arent left out of the Castlevania loop: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate HD is now available for download, taking the former 3DS exclusive and giving it an HD paint job." - Patrick Kulikowski

| Boss Battles for the Soul pays homage to SNES boss music
Added: 01.11.2013 22:17 | 8 views | 0 comments
"If youre a fan of SNES RPG music, than this will be right up your alley. Video game music aficionado Mark Reichwein is accepting donations for a Kickstarter project that sees him composing new boss themes to classic SNES RPGs in their original style.
The project, if successfully funded by Nov. 14, will result in a seven-track album comprised of new boss battle music done using the sounds and instruments of each respective SNES RPG, including titles like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Earthbound, Secret of Evermore and Super Mario RPG. Three backers who have pledged $50 to the project get their pick of which game Reichwein will compose a boss tune of.
At the time of this writing, the project has amassed $758 of its $1000 goal with twelve days to go. Original boss themes from Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger have already been released on YouTube. Be sure to check those out after the break, and give his Kickstarter page a visit." - Patrick Kulikowski

| Review: Battlefield 4 | Stevivor

Steve Wright writes, "As I sat in a darkened theatre in San Francisco this past March, DICEs Patrick Söderlund declared that Battlefield 4s single-player campaign would be beyond epic.
As we all know, the best games out there are not really about polygons, or shaders; its the emotional connection that we make with players, he began. The DICE studio has evolved into world-class entertainers and storytellers. We are strongly driven by the desire to craft new worlds, new gameplay experiences, and fill them with gripping stories, unique characters and spectacular moments.
