Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Review [Capsule Computers]
Added: 16.02.2014 12:15 | 6 views | 0 comments
Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:
"Visual novels come in many shapes and sizes, but in the West they rarely come at all. There has been difficulty in the past to even have popular titles such as Phoenix Wright localized for fans, and many other fairly popular titles that are simply visual novels rarely are released outside of the PC. As such, when NIS America announced that they would be bringing the first game in the Danganronpa series to the West in the form of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, fans rejoiced. Now that this title has been released, did they celebrate too soon?"

Phoenix Down is hosted by Drew Leachman and Matt Quinn. Each segment focuses on an older game the duo decides upon with another member of the ZTGD crew or special guest. They play through and discuss the mechanics and how well it holds up today. It is the ultimate in backlog elimination.
The boys use shadow power to defeat this classic JRPG.

| Review: DanganRonpa - Trigger Happy Havoc (DarkZero)
Added: 12.02.2014 10:15 | 9 views | 0 comments
Dominic at DarkZero writes "Im not exactly sure where my interest for text-heavy, adventure, visual novels came from - it probably started with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on the Nintendo DS. It seems I wasn't the only one who enjoyed a good story with twists. I say this because it seems the genre, while not selling massively well, is popular enough for some of the smaller publishers to bring those types of games across the ocean. The next game in this category is DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a title that was released on the PlayStation Portable in 2010 in the land of the rising sun. It then went onto get a 2013 Vita remake with bonus game modes. Nippon Ichi Software USA has seen fit to bring this Spike Chunsoft - A merger of Spike and Chunsoft (the guys that brought us the excellent Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward) developed title to the west. After playing the game, Im glad they did."

DHGF: DanganRonpa is a very stylistic murder-mystery/action-adventure game that plays a bit like Phoenix Wright, 999, and a dating simulator combined. Theres something for everybody, but the plot is extremely compelling by itself. Theres a lot of reading involved, so if you dont like text-heavy games, this might not be for you; however, if you like the Phoenix Wright series and dont mind a dark story, I can almost guarantee youll love this game. The length of the game isnt too bad: its about 25 hours long, assuming you arent trying to 100% the galleries. In about 27.5 hours I was able to complete the game, complete the report card for all the characters, and get a couple runs of school mode in. Finally, the game looks much better than the PSP version and contains extra content, so even if youve played it before, its worth playing again.

If at first you dont succeed, try try again. That was a bible adage right? It wasnt? Oh
Well anyway, thats the maxim that developer Phoenix Interactive seems to be living by. They recently started a Kickstarter for a brand new game called Bible Chronicles: the Call of Abraham. Yes, its a modern day Bible game, a genre that we all thought died out back with the NES. Youd get to relive all your favorite Bible stories, like dying as Job, or fleeing from Sodom and Gomorrah as Lot. Feel guilty for your very existence in ways you never thought you could. Experience top of the line graphics that look like they were made in Second Lifes character editor. Praise God through your controller, because thats how religion works."
