Pokémon is a venerable series, long respected by devotees of Nintendo. People develop ordeals like the Nuzlocke challenge, collect memorabilia, and even get to Target an hour and a half before it opens in the hopes of acquiring a limited edition Pikachu 3DS XL. Of course, these fans are holders of a deeper secret as well, though it's one that those outside of Nintendo's warm embrace have begun to become privy to. As good as the mainstay Pokémon games are, the spinoffs are just as heartwarmingly wonderful.

| Harmoknight review: Pokemon creators change the record

Game Freak does Pokémon. That's just the way it is. The studio's been synonymous with Pikachu and his pals for past seventeen years now and considering its last non-Pokémon game was eight years ago (Drill Dozer on the Game Boy Advance) it's little wonder gamers associate it with nothing else. Harmoknight wants to change that.

| Pikachu 3DS XL selling out at Target

From the news story: "If you wanted a Pikachu 3DS XL, you may have already missed your chance. Nintendo wasnt kidding when it said this was a limited edition system. Target stores are already selling out of their stock. As I can attest, the special edition 3DS with Pikachu on the lid was doled out sparingly to stores and, as a result, was selling out shortly after it opened.
The Target in Arlington Heights, Illinois received three Pikachu 3DS XLs. I was there at 7am and there was already a line forming. By the time the store opened at 8, there were eleven of us. I remember dashing to the electronics department, hearing a crowd of teenagers behind me chanting, Pikachu!"

From the article, "Today marks the release of a new 3DS XL that prominently features Pikachu on the front and rear covers. Its being sold for $199, but Target has it on sale for $159.99 along with any other 3DS XL model. Seeing as how my local Target only received a couple of these units, Im assuming this 3DS XL could become somewhat of a collectors model."
