Gaming Trend: "If youre a fan of one or more of the franchises featured in the game and mildly familiar with the game of poker, Poker Night 2 will provide more than enough entertainment to justify its $5 price point. The characters appearances and voices are true to their backgrounds (with the exception of Ash who doesnt look or sound like Bruce Campbell). Telltale has taken decent poker gameplay, some gaming culture icons, and an entertaining script and wrapped it up neatly into an affordable little package. For less than a cup of Starbucks, its hard to go wrong."

MTV:"Poker Night 2" isn't your average poker video game - unless you're idea of "average" consists of playing against a homicidal maniac, the cursed holder of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, a talking dog in a suit, and a wisecracking robot. While that may sound like a pretty solid lineup for a cartoon from the 1980s, it's actually a rundown of your "Poker Night 2" opponents; Brock Sampson from "The Venture Bros.," Ash from "The Evil Dead," Max from "Sam Max," and Claptrap from "Boarderlands." And, just for good measure, "Portal"'s GLaDOS is your dealer, and Mad Moxxie is your bartender. Needless to say, with that cast of characters, things are bound to get a little bit rowdy.

Polygon: "The appeal of Poker Night 2 is obvious: you get to play poker with a well-realized crew of goofy characters. The drive to collect everything adds some replay value with basic, almost Pavlovian game design you simply keep playing until you earn your prizes. I wasn't happy until I had all the Portal gear to outfit my table with. That drive is short-lived, thanks to repetitive dialogue and familiar gameplay that doesn't push video game poker anywhere especially new. But a card table with friends isn't a bad place to spend a little time."

When Poker Night at the Inventory was released in 2010, Telltale Games was a relatively unknown developer. The company had a small but loyal following amongst the glorious PC master race due to episodic classics such as Sam and Max and Tales of Monkey Island, yet they were hardly a mainstream player.

GameZebo: Just because Telltale Games won eleventy million awards (seriously, I counted) for The Walking Dead doesnt mean their developers went all grim and gritty all the time. To prove it, they returned to their humorous roots with Poker Night 2, a game they describe as the unnecessary sequel to Poker Night at the Inventory. Play poker against some true characters, unlock some goodies and get ready to laugh.
