Kings Quest A Knight To Remember Review | PressA2Join

Will writes Kings Quest is proof that the classic adventure style game can still work in the modern era. Developer The Odd Gentleman has done a fantastic job of capturing the feeling of the original games, while bringing a modern flavor to the series. Unlike some of the more popular adventure games from recent years like TellTales The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, Kings Quest is a fun departure both in the terms of the narrative and gameplay experience. Its a nice throwback to the classic adventure games that does little hand holding, and encourages exploration and puzzle-solving over dialogue choices as the main focus."

Kings Quest: Chapter 1 A Knight to Remember Review | My Games Lounge

A full written review of the first episode of King's Quest. MGL: As the first chapter of this new King's Quest we are getting a fantastic start to this new adaptation of the series. The game is stunningly presented with some hand drawn artwork that makes you feel like you are in a fairytale inspired animation rather than a game. The puzzle solving gameplay may be on the slow side for some gamers but the developers have made this game a solid mix of a modern adventure game and classic point-and-click puzzle solving. With a top voice cast and genuinely funny and emotional moments, it's well worth your time.

The new Kings Quest game is a quirky whimsical fun adventure but is plagued by many tech hiccups. On the PlayStation 4 the graphics stuttered frequently as Graham walked through scenes causing him to jump or freeze in place.

"Recently, weve seen a revitalization of the adventure genre, thanks to developers like Telltale Games using strong licenses, and Double Fine bringing back classic LucasArts favorites. None, however, have struck me as true to the genre as what The Odd Gentlemen were able to lovingly craft when they made this revival of the exemplary franchise that was the catalyst for our modern narrative in games. Move over Telltale. Youve got some significant competition in the adventure gaming field." - PSLS
