Affordable Space Adventures: Giving Value to the GamePad
Added: 30.04.2015 2:17 | 20 views | 0 comments
Michael Bowerman of Gaming Rebellion Writes: "When I was lured into playing the Wii U, I was totally taken aback by how much I enjoyed the GamePad. In fact, one of my absolute favorite features the GamePad offers is the off-TV play; I use it all the time. But, too often the software developed for the Wii U doesnt utilize the GamePad which is why it is current gen. Many times even Nintendo doesnt utilize it well; take note of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and even the sales monster Mario Kart 8. The GamePad is too often barely used, if at all. In fact, the most innovative usages of the GamePad have usually come about with second and third party titles, such as The Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends, and Deus Ex. Human Revolution DC."

| Harold Review | GameGrin

Auto-runners such as Rayman Jungle Run, Temple Run and Jetpack Joyride have dominated mobile platforms for a while now, so it was only a matter of time before they started to invade the PC. Enter Harold, a 2D, puzzle-platforming racer from Moon Spider Studio. Taking the fast-paced, reactionary gameplay of an auto-runner and adding the fidelity of control and graphics allowed by a PC should have been a recipe for greatness. Ultimately, though, the result is a frustrating title that requires lightning-fast reactions and phenomenal dexterity.

Shovel Knight in Smash? Maybe someday. The eponymous hero of Shovel Knight was drawn by DeviantArt's hextupleyoodot, AKA Artsy Omni, the guy behind the Rayman "leak," as part of his Smashified series.

Chad from We Got This Covered wrote:
Those who say that video games arent art, or that they dont have artistic integrity, clearly havent paid much attention to the medium. Thats okay, though, because those who have are aware of the fact that there have been many great examples of this over the years, ranging from more realistic titles like the Uncharted series, to beautifully animated experiences such as Dust: An Elysian Tale and Rayman Legends. You just have to look past some of the bullets to find the true art, though theres absolutely nothing wrong with a good first or third-person shooter.
