Hardcore Gamer: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was met with a mostly positive reception when it hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 nearly a year ago, and rightfully so, as it featured some of the most satisfying gameplay mechanics to have ever graced the character action genre. After promises of a PC port for more than six months, Konami has finally released quite possibly the definitive version to get by offering sharper visuals along with keyboard and mouse controls. It has been a long time since weve seen a Metal Gear title on the PC, but thankfully, Konami has matched most of the standards weve come to expect.

From GamesReviews: "Metal Gear Rising Revengeance sent up some red flags when it was announced; it didnt have Snake as a playable character, it wasnt part of the main Metal Gear storyline, and it was an action game with very little of Metal Gears genre-defining stealth gameplay. However it was developed by Platinum Games, the studio behind Bayonetta, so it wasnt such a surprise that Revengeance turned out to among the best action games of 2013."

Drew Leachman writes: When Metal Gear Rising first released on consoles, I decided to skip it. One of the big reasons was the fact that I really havent enjoyed many titles from PlatinumGames before. I know, that makes me a bad gamer, but I cant help it. After spending some time with Raiden and company on the PC though, I can see I have missed out on a very fun, albeit insane experience.

Mike Suskie writes: "The combat's great, and because of that, Revengeance's biggest problem isn't that it's over so quickly, but that it constantly kills its own pace whenever it seems to really get going."
