Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Review | GameCloud Australia

Shane Smith at GameCloud Australia writes:
"Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is the ultimate package for any fan of the genre, and boasts one of the best fighting systems around today. The huge catalogue of characters, stages and alternative attires are also great for replay value; especially for multiplayer, which I found lacking in the latest Killer Instinct game. If you dismiss the goofy storylines and the objectionable female character designs; youd have a solid and well-balanced fighting game thats fun to button-mash and challenging to master. Its a worthy alternative from the Tekken, Killer Instinct and the Street Fighter series. If it is indeed the last game of the 5th iteration, then Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is an appropriate way to wrap it up."

Jack Fleming writes "If Ive said it once Ive said it a thousand times, sometimes its really hard to be a video games fan. Take the Dead or Alive franchise for example, while a very entertaining and well balanced fighting game it also allows you to adjust the breast physics of the scantily clad female characters."

Seph Dean wrote: So, about a year of finally getting my hands on "The Order: 1886," we get to see how much does it take to go up against an ancient evil. Set in an alternate 19th century in Victorian London with some nifty Steam Punk tech, there is an elite force known as the Knights of the Round Table waging war against Lycans (werewolves) and Vampires. You play a knight name Sir Galahad with your fellow mates Percival, Igraine, and Marquis keeping werewolves and some random human rebellion at bay while finding out some conspiracies within the order coming to fruition as you progress through the game.

I know what youre thinking. I thought it too. This wont be any better than Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 for the PlayStation 2. Im here to tell you we were wrong. For the last 12+ years Bandai Namco has been making garbage Dragon Ball fighting games, trying to do something different each time until something stuck to the wall. So much so that they decided to just remaster Budokai 3 for the PlayStation 3 in 2012.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is definitely a game that pushes the "fanservice" button quite often with its soft engine and skimpy costumes, but there still is a thing it doesn't do: destructible clothes.

PSX:
When Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate launched back in 2013, I thought we were done with this particular installment. However, I was wrong. Team Ninja has opted to bring the solid fighter to new consoles and as such, theyve once again updated and renamed the game: Now its Dead or Alive 5: Last Round and despite being a pretty clear cash grab at least in part it remains a wildly entertaining, well-rounded fighter with plenty of new content. Unfortunately, the new content is underwhelming and long-time followers might be better off waiting for the next real installment.
