| [MWEB GameZone Review]:Sacred 3 - Barely Sacred
Added: 29.08.2014 8:12 | 16 views | 0 comments
MWEB GameZone writes:"Sacred 3's problem is that it promises to be one thing at the start, but turns out to be something else as you progress. Sacred 3 is kind of like a pack of cheap gum you impulse buy at the check out till. It tastes great and you enjoy it well enough initially, but the flavour evaporates pretty quickly and then you spit it out and forget you ever had it."

Avoiderdragon: Games, like with other forms of media, give their audiences subjective experiences that are then formalized and described as objectively as humanly possible. There are those that get praised by the majority, while a lot of others languish far in the background or even deep in the bin. But there are those that do well in dividing opinions due to their mix of positive and negative characteristics. There was Sacred 3, and we now have Risen 3. The number and release period are the only things in common between these two.

Nick Walge: Sacred 3 is a traditional hack and slash action RPG from publisher Deep Silver that doesn't take itself too seriously, something of a cross between The Bards Tale and the Gauntlet franchise. Unfortunately, the final product does not quite reach the humor of the former nor the button mashing fun of the latter, and while it does have its charms, players should think long and hard before settling into this colorful adventure.

Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw:
I'm not what you'd call a religious man. I used to consider myself a fairly hard-line atheist - YEAH DEAL WITH IT SOCIETY - but I've mellowed a bit since those days. I've started to think that maybe there is no reason to assume that the universe could only have come into existence by accident. Perhaps the Big Bang could have been set off as a deliberate act by some form of intelligence that is as incomprehensible to us as our society is to a goldfish in a bowl. I figure, since there's probably no way of knowing the exact circumstances that led up to the Big Bang, it'd be arrogant to dismiss anything outright.

G3AR: "A high-quality opening cinematic, a good game does not make. In fact, the opening cinematic for Sacred 3 is about as good as its going to get. Sadly, if youre a fan of either Sacred 1 or 2, as I was, or youre just looking for a Diablo-like experience, Sacred 3 is not your port of call."
