Eurogamer:
"We had mixed feelings about the PS4 version of Saint's Row 4 after taking a look at the game last week. While the boost to 1080p resolution and higher frame-rates clearly provides a better experience than the last-gen versions, highly variable performance meant that the conversion wasn't as solid as it could be, with the existing PC version remaining the best way to play the game. However, we wanted to go in-depth on final code, while also assessing how the developers would tackle the Xbox One version. Would the developers attempt to run with a 60fps update, or instead lock at 30fps to avoid the consistency issues found on the PS4? On top of that, we also wanted to check out the Gat out of Hell standalone expansion."

"Its clear that the style of Saints Row is alive and well in Gat out of Hell, but it loses a step or two when it becomes something that you interact with. The game is structured completely around side activities, many returning from the previous two games. Insurance Fraud and Mayhem are still very enjoyable, but it feels a bit uninspired to just run through the same activities again considering that the games setting has changed so drastically. Unique activities mainly involve flying with your newly gained angel wings, which control well once upgraded past the starting levels of speed and maneuverability." - Alex Santa Maria of Geekenstein

Dan Naylor: "Saint Row was and lets be honest here a knock off Grand Theft Auto when it spawned nine years ago. Since then though it has found its niche, comedy juxtaposed against GTAs grittiness. Saints 3 had a lucha libre gang, hover-bikes and Professor Genkis Super Ethical Reality Climax. Saints 4 threw off the last shackles of reality, with aliens, super-powers and a Matrix-style computer simulation. With Earth destroyed, it was hard to see where Volition could take the series next."

| Saints Row IV: Re-Elected (PlayStation 4) Review - Push Square

Push Square: "Love it or hate it, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected's obsession with the ridiculous is what sets it apart from the rest of the market, and the PS4 re-release is the best way to experience the madness. Coupled with extra expansions (including Gat Out of Hell if you buy the bundle), there's plenty of value to the package, even if it doesn't take the opportunity to build upon the PS3 original. A blast from start to finish, the president's tale of vengeance is the stupidest fun that you can have on Sony's newest console, and we mean that in the best possible way."
