Up until now, the Saints Row series has provided us with some of the most interesting and, dare we say, insane experiences that we had the opportunity to play on a computer. Saints Row IV: Gat Out of Hell manages to take the whole experience to the next level by pushing this open world comedic action adventure game to a new real, which is Hell.

Glitch Cat - Gat Out Of Hell is a decent standalone expansion to Saints Row IV, bringing forth more wacky, action-packed gameplay to a whole new setting. The story is a bit too short for my liking and the game has a couple of noticeable issues, but overall its a genuinely fun addition to constantly improving series.

PA:
"Theres a wonderful comic moment in Saints Row IV: Gat Out of Hell in which Satan, his daughter Jezebel, and returning characters Gat and Kinzie pine about life in Hell in a full-on musical number reminiscent of South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncuts Up There. Its sheer audacity had me giggling throughout.
But thats as good as it gets, and it never gets that good again.
Youd think Hell would be fertile ground for a series that trades in outlandish concepts and over-the-top action, but this short song and dance routine is one of only a handful of bright spots in a decidedly short, thoroughly repetitive, and surprisingly uninspired romp through Perdition.

Polygon:
"Since the release of its comparatively down-the-middle first entry, Saints Row has thrived by taking itself progressively less seriously. In Saints Row IV alone, it blew up Earth, transformed into a 16-bit brawler and made its lead the first super-powered President of the United States.
It was subversively irreverent, but always laughing with its audience, never at them. But in the standalone Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, Volition may have taken the joke too far."
