Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have announced a new LEGO game that is poised to rival the likes of Skylanders and Disney Infinity.

LEGO Dimensions is a toys-to-life game that features characters from the DC Comics universe, as well as familiar faces from The LEGO Movie, and The Lord of the Rings. The game will feature a "LEGO Gateway," which one would presume features similarly to Activision's portal for Skylanders. The initial release will come as a Starter Pack that includes a LEGO Toy Pad, and Dimensions will be supported in the future with additional content in the form of Expansion Packs.

As rumored, the LEGO Group will take on Skylanders and Disney Infinity with a toys-to-life game of their own. LEGO Dimensions will officially debut on September 29th on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Wii U.
