Tell GameRevolution: Mario or Sonic?
Added: 04.08.2015 18:00 | 12 views | 0 comments
A good many years ago, the console landscape only had two major players: Nintendo and SEGA. Ah, the days of SNES vs. Genesis... What a wonderfully long time ago.
During that time, each platform holder had their own silly mascot, both of which still live on in games today. Well, sort of. While Mario is still alive and well, some may argue Sonic is dead and died a long time ago, despite have several new games (of questionable quality) released fairly recently.

Jorge S Fernandez: "Ask anyone who grew up watching Roadrunner cartoons, and they will most likely admit that it was more fun imagining themselves as the Coyote than the titular Roadrunner; despite his penchant for failing, Wile E. Coyote's constant meddling with elaborate traps was always entertaining to watch. Curiously, there have been very few videogames that simulate the cartoon's Rube Goldberg-inspired traps as an actual gameplay mechanic: the most anyone got out of the Roadrunner brand were a few Sonic the Hedgehog knockoffs that neither satisfied our craving for trap-making nor super speeding."

| GT7 Prolonged: where was Gran Turismo 7 at E3 2015?

VVV: "However, there was something else Sonys conference sorely lacked: racing games. Or, to be more specific, Gran Turismo 7. I doubt I was alone in hoping that Polyphony would take the opportunity to show us even the faintest sign of life of the new Gran Turismo game, which Polyphony have previously confirmed is in the works. Even a teaser trailer showing an extreme close-up of a highly detailed headlight with a vague release window would have sufficed. Justsomething. Anything. Unfortunately, Gran Turismos absence at E3 could have long term repercussions for the series."

Jenni Lada writes, "Tembo the Badass Elephant is reminiscent of all sorts of platformers, but will likely call to mind Sonic the Hedgehog most. Part of it is due to an early focus on speeding through levels."

GamesAsylum: "Published by SEGA and developed by Game Freak yes, the same Game Freak who gave the world Pokémon Tembo the Badass Elephant recalls fond memories of the 32-bit era. Specifically, around two or three years into the Saturns stunted lifecycle. While Sony was wowing gamers with the kind of stuff that showed off the PSones 3D abilities, SEGA was busy releasing such offbeat 2D titles as Three Dirty Dwarfs, Mr. Bones, Scud The Disposable Assassin, Saturn Bomberman and the legendary Guardian Heroes in a pleasantly oblivious manner"

Excerpt: "Tembo is an unlikely hero, but makes for an impressive debut from Pokemon developer, Game Freak. With SEGA as the publisher of this game, comparisons with the Sonic series and Tembo are not far off, but theres a unique twist here with a game all its own. While there are a few problems with Tembo the Badass Elephant, theres way more to enjoy than not."

| PlayStation: From A to Z The Letter S
Added: 29.07.2015 15:18 | 7 views | 0 comments
Ken McKown writes: The From A to Z series lets our editors go back and take a look at games from past generations that are classics, overlooked gems, or just titles they remember fondly. The idea behind this is to pick five games from each letter of the alphabet, once a week to showcase. This delivers 26 weeks and 130 games to talk about. Hopefully it sparks some conversation, and of course plenty of memories.
Our first series will focus on Sonys first entry into the console business, the PlayStation.
Lets continue with the letter S.
