Persona 5s release date is going to be announced at Sonys pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, which takes place this week. The game is still slated for a 2015 release date, as Atlus PR Manager John Hardin has stated the developer and publisher is trying to coordinate a publisher for EU territories and Atlus has reiterated time and time again that the company intends to hold an asynchronous worldwide launch for the game. Twenty years ago today, the Sony PlayStation came out in the U.S., establishing a dominant new brand in the gaming world. Still, the anniversary isnt getting a ton of attention. In fact, somehow more gamers recognize September 9 as the day the Dreamcast launched, despite it being a much less successful console than the PlayStation (which would sell about 102.49 million units). Maybe thats because the Dreamcast had a catchy September 9, 1999 release date (9/9/99), but it might be because the Dreamcast had a lot of memorable launch games, like Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure.

NE: Some of you may remember that, last year, the SEGA 3D Reprint Archives was released in Japan. This was a compilation featuring several games such as 3D Streets of Rage and 3D Space Harrier. Today, Famitsu reveals that SEGA 3D Classics Reprint 2 is coming to Japan. 3D Sonic The Hedgehog, 3D Galaxy Force II, 3D Thunderblade, 3D Altered Beast, and 3D Fantasy Zone II W are confirmed for the retail package.
