Oculus First-Party Studio Forming in Seattle, Dead Space UI Director Joining

VRFocus - 2008s Dead Space was one of the few successful survival horror titles of the last generation of videogames, invoking classic experiences such as Resident Evil 4 with a fresh coat of HD paint. One of the titles most notable innovations was its user interface (UI), which cleverly appeared within the game world itself rather than as information stuck to a screen. This approach has proved not just popular but vital to virtual reality (VR) experiences over the years, and now the designer of that UI has moved from publisher EA to a new Oculus first-party studio.

What Gamers Want for the Week of 9-7-15: New Video Game Releases

Added: 07.09.2015 2:19 | 21 views | 0 comments

EB: Consider this week a slight break in the fall AAA video game release rush for 2015, but dont write it off as a bad week of releases altogether, because there are still a few worth looking into. The most notable new video game release is definitely Super Mario Maker for the Wii U, which ships on the 11th. Although, both Tearaway Unfolded and Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time are two titles to consider as well, not to mention Dropsy may be worth experiencing too. You can also try a few titles on new platforms, or even a remaster of Castle Crashers for the Xbox One.

Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space Features Trailer

Added: 06.09.2015 8:53 | 60 views | 0 comments

Standing as a direct predecessor to the series’ first North American release (Earth Defense Force 2017, known as Earth Defense Force 3 in Japan), and widely regarded by fans as the best entry in the franchise, Earth Defense Force 2 is making its way to the western hemisphere for the very first time with this greatly expanded remake. In Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space, players will take the role of one of three distinct military classes and fend off hordes of invading giant insects from a third-person perspective by way of conventional weaponry, armored vehicles, jetpacks, air strikes, trip mines, energy weapons, and more. The game will arrive in North America for the PS Vita with a number of improvements and additions helmed by the original developers at Sandlot, including up to four-player online co-op, an entirely new Air Raider class, and a new English dub.
