The Co-op Podcast #90: Will Destinys Hype Last?

Added: 13.09.2014 7:16 | 6 views | 0 comments

Gary Swaby of The Koalition writes: This week is an important week for gamers, because one of the most hyped new IPs has hit shelves. Destiny is with us, and while many of us are impressed with Bungies FPS/MMO hybrid shooter, some people also have concerns about its longevity. Its clear that Destiny is a game to be played with friends and other people in general, but what will happen when those friends move on to different games? Will people be willing to comeback when the game gets an expansion? We discuss it all in our Destiny discussion.

The Co-op Podcast #89: Should We Label Ourselves as Gamers?

Added: 06.09.2014 1:16 | 7 views | 0 comments

The Koalition's Gary Swaby writes: "Welcome to The Co-op Podcast 89. This week on The Koalition there were two controversial articles covering the use of the word Gamer. First it was Tony Polanco writing up his editorial I Dont Care What They Say, Im Proud to Call Myself a Gamer. Then once Austin Conway caught wind of it he was eager to follow up with his response article Dont Be a Gamer, Be More. Both writers made great points, but is there a right and wrong to this debate? Hear our thoughts on the usage of the word Gamer on this weeks episode of The Co-op Podcast. Then, hop over and listen to the cast of The Throwdown speak on the entire Gamer Gate issue."

The Co-op Podcast 86: Do Gamers Act LIke Spoiled Brats?

Added: 17.08.2014 5:13 | 12 views | 0 comments

Gary Swaby of The Koalition writes: This week was Gamescom 2014 and there was lots of exciting news from the event. One of the biggest announcements was the news that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be exclusive to the Xbox One in 2015. This news sent shock-waves through the internet, and we've since seem petitions and death threats. With all of this chaos over a timed exclusive title, are gamers too spoiled? Be sure to listen to us rant over all the outrage that has come from the announcement. We also give our own opinions on the exclusive deal itself. It may not be a huge megaton announcement, but does this move show that the PC platform is beginning to gain more respect from mega-publishers? Does Steam now have a user base that publishers cannot ignore? Kojima is making a silent hill game, but how will his influence affect the game? Is Hellblade meant as a spiritual s...

Five Previous Gen Games that Should be Remastered

Added: 11.08.2014 21:13 | 12 views | 0 comments

Gary Swaby at The Koalition writes: I know many of you are thinking "Please! No more remasters," as you read the title of this article. Even I'm getting tired of hearing about games being remastered. It's clearly lazy and a way for publishers to make quick money while their newer titles are still in development. With that being said, if publishers are going to continue with this trend then they may as well remaster games that make sense. Sleeping Dogs is an awesome game and clearly one of the best open world games in recent memory but did it really deserve a remaster? I think not. Here's a list of five previous gen games that I'd love to see get the remastered treatment for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Co-op Podcast 84: Does Sony See EA Access as a threat?

Added: 03.08.2014 7:13 | 11 views | 0 comments

Gary Swaby at The Koalition writes: On this episode of The Co-op Podcast we discuss EA's new subscription service EA Access. Sony has denied the service on their platform because they believe it doesn't offer good value to their customers. However, with Playstation Now and Playstation Plus, could it be that Sony saw EA's service as a threat? Does the fact that Microsoft agreed to the service give them an advantage? We discuss this all on the show.
