Gary A Swaby of TheKoalition writes: Welcome to the pilot of our brand new Podcast 'The Breakdown'. This podcast series will be focused entirely on discussing both storyline and gameplay for worthy video game titles. We decided to kick things off with the game that has been heavily discussed over the past few weeks, and that is of course The Last of Us by Naughty Dog. The Last of Us was held in high regard when it released back in early June, and many are calling it the best Playstation 3 game to date. Myself, Edward V, Richard Bailey and the person who reviewed the game Carl Daniel talk through our likes and dislikes of the game as well as our overall thoughts on the storytelling. We also touch on the way the game ended and weather there's room for the story to expand into a sequel. The Last of Us spoiler discussion We also want to hear from our listeners and compare our thoughts with those of others. So be sure to share your thoughts in the comment section below. There...

The Astonishing Starcraft Art of Mr. Jack

Added: 04.07.2013 15:16 | 14 views | 0 comments

UM writes: I believe we may have featured Mr. Jack here on the site before, as his Starcraft art is so good theres no way I havent seen some of it before. But now that Heart of the Swarm is out, hes been a busy bee capturing all the new units and some new battle scenarios. Any one of these could be desktop wallpaper for a Starcraft fan, which is why I havent shrunk them down at all and left them at their original largeness. Below youll find a rather extensive gallery of what I think is Mr. Jacks best work. At this point, Im shocked that Blizzard hasnt just outright hired him, as all of this is better than anything official Ive seen out of them.

Dark Souls II Is A Challenge Worth Overcoming (E3 2013 Hands-on) - The Koalition

Added: 20.06.2013 6:17 | 3 views | 0 comments

Gary Swaby of TheKoalition.com writes: Namco Bandai were one of the publishers I knew I had to check out at E3 this year. It was my goal to check out Dark Souls II and see just how this game compares against its two predecessors Demon Souls and Dark Souls. With a presentation from CQC analyst Matt Warner and a hands-on session, I now understand what Dark Souls II aims to accomplish. There's been a stigma surrounding these games that it's designed to be hard on purpose. In actuality Namco only aims to make a realistic combat game that rewards players for putting thought behind their actions. Dark Souls II establishes this niche in a way that creates enthusiasm for the challenge.
