Tales from the Borderlands: Zero Sum Review: Distilling Down a Shoot-n-Looter | Technology Tell
Added: 09.12.2014 21:11 | 3 views | 0 comments
Technology Tell writes, "I feel conflicted about Zero Sum, the first episode of Telltale Games Tales from the Borderlands. On one hand, the game further improves on action, writing and some of the acting. The bar has been set much higher than Telltales previous excellent games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. On the other hand, for as great as the interaction between Rhys and Vaughn are played by Troy Baker and Chris Hardwick, respectively the interactions between other characters pale in comparison and the middle act of this first episode slows to a grinding halt."

| Dragon Age: Inquistion: Decisions and Dragons

Technology Tell writes, "Query: If each of the three Dragon Age games took place in different fantasy worlds, would we sense any connection between them? If Dragon Age: Origins was set in Robert Jordans The Wheel of Time, Dragon Age II was set in Ursula K. Le Guins Earthsea, and Dragon Age: Inquisition was set in Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth, would we be able to detect any familiarity between the three games? True, each has that distinct Bioware feel: the dialogue choices, the focus on character interaction, the trio of companions that trail behind you wherever you go, the familiar raft of Bioware bugs that endure no matter how many times they change the engine. I suppose the question Im really asking is, if the consistent ideology underlying the series the chantry, the templars, the darkspawn and gray wardens and dwarves and elves and arls enrich the story or weigh it down."

| The Legend of Zelda Wii U Awakens Long Dormant Feelings

Technology Tell writes, "What better way to get off of a mountain than to jump off? Seeing Link paraglide was pretty impressive. Its a nod to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. With traversal being an important facet of adventure games nowadays, I really liked seeing that effort in The Legend of Zelda Wii U."

| Akibas Trip Review: A Little More Power Goes a Long Way | Technology Tell

Technology Tell writes, "Normal people, not just the usual audience games like this tend to pander towards. It was funny, it was smart, the in-game Akibahara was great and above all else, it was damn fun to play. So said the world, and I had to see for myself. I rented the Vita version, and after a few moments I knew I had something very cool in front of me. But I sent it back. A PS4 upgrade was on the way, and I wanted to see how it handled. The original version had some problems, problems the stronger hardware should have no problem addressing. As it turns out, I was right."

| Craft the World Review: World of Dwarfcraft | Technology Tell

Technology Tell writes, "Im always happy to see an anticipated game finally come together. Craft the World has emerged from Steam Early Access and launched, promising an experience that is self-described as blending Dungeon Keeper, Terraria, and Dwarf Fortress. Fortunately, this isnt another case of cobbling mining with crafting and hoping it gathers notice Craft the World actually manages to hold a candle to the games that inspired it and build an experience all its own."

| The Good Life Review: The Tropical Paradise That Isnt | Technology Tell
Added: 09.12.2014 2:11 | 1 views | 0 comments
Technology Tell writes, "The Good Life promised me it was an open world, sandbox style tropical paradise simulator. By some definitions, it fulfilled that promise. It certainly had a world I could wander around in, and that world was modeled after the stereotypical tropical paradise. In many other ways, however, it completely failed at its promise. Im not going to beat around the bush here. The Good Life is a bad game, and its not even the kind of bad where theres a lot of entertaining things to say about it. Its just boring."

Technology Tell writes, "Everyone watched the show, even more than the Pokemon show. Maybe it was the infectious, ridiculous theme song. Or maybe it was because the characters had several times more depth than monsters who just roared their names over and over again. Who knows. Everyone loved it."

Technology Tell writes, "I Am Bread is now in beta and on Steam Early Access and its going to get you all nostalgic. Remember when you were a little kid and youd pretend the floor was lava? So youd do everything possible to find your way around the room without touching the floor. Of course, the fun always ended up ending eventually, because an adult always showed up to spoil the fun. Youre going to break something! How did you get up there? You get the idea."
