When Terraria was first released, it was hard to think of it as anything but another Minecraft clone. Sure, it was two dimensional, which compared to Minecrafts blocky aesthetic could be considered an improvement, but aside from the visuals, it didnt really seem like there was anything that was different about Terraria.
