Terraria Review | Destructoid

Destructoid: "Terraria is an incredible experience, and no game has filled me with the same sense of wonder and drive to explore in a very long time. In this port to consoles, those feelings are preserved, but perhaps not as elegantly as they could have been. The control scheme turned out better than expected, but the multiplayer functionality is far from ideal. Still, I cannot recommend this enough to anybody with a heart for exploring the unknown and an inherent passion for discovery."

Terraria is a truly wonderful PC title and the PS3 version is virtually the same game with extra content, however the game suffers when played on a controller and a few big bugs have jumped on board during the porting process.

Youve heard of Minecraft. You may not have played it or even seen it, but unless youve had your head in the sand for the last few years youll have heard about it somehow. The blocky mine-em-up has literally taken over the universe and made an absolute fortune for its developer Markus Notch Persson and his company Mojang. Unsurprisingly, many other developers have attempted to cash in on the seemingly overnight rise in interest over the genre, mostly by copying Minecraft exactly and adding minor tweaks. Before 4J spat the title (or at least a year-old version of it) on to XBLA, a few indie games even gave it a try. Not wanting to jump on the bandwagon too hard, indie studio Re-Logic decided to take the mine/craft/survive formula in a different direction. Terraria, released after the Minecraft alpha but before the game was actually finished, was a side-scrolling take on the genre that focused more on actual progression and survival combat than simply building large edi...

Terraria Review - The Gamers Hub

For those who havent played Minecraft, you can be forgiven for passing Terraria off as a side scrolling adaptation of Mojangs title. But for the lucky millions who have experienced Minecraft, youll already know that Terraria is so much more than that. It goes so much further down the mine shaft than Minecraft ever did, and with its attention to every little detail, its far much more expansive than the previous cuboid king. But nearly two years on from its PC debut, how does Terraria hold up with the transfer from keyboard to gamepad?

Terraria Review | GameDynamo

GameDynamo - "Terraria is an interesting take on the sandbox genre. The game wants you to explore dark caverns, fight monsters, and build using the materials you collect. It's similar to Minecraft in the sense that you can wander around the world and do whatever you want."
