Second Opinion: Child of Light

JD Schmidt writes: "Microsoft have certainly upped the ante with their Games with Gold titles for the month of April 2015. Games like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Terraria are now free to download on various Xbox consoles for subscribers, but the title that really caught my eye the most was Child of Light. I quite enjoyed the Ubisoft Montreal-developed title when I first played it, and with it now being available for free on Xbox One (and receiving its first physical release in PS Vita form this week), I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to go back and replay it."

Nat Smyth of EB writes: "I was never much of a Minecraft or Terraria man myself. I was always a bit rubbish at them and I was never super creative, and basically me playing those games is worse than giving a chimp LEGOs. Edge Of Space from Handyman Studios changes how I feel about those games though, because its essentially Terraria but in space and with more narrative and more reason to do things."

Neil writes "Dig everything. Fight anything. Explore everywhere. Build stuff.
Those are the basics premises of Terraria, the 2D sandbox adventure that has now made its way to the new gen, and those four simple things define the entire game. Will you create? Will you destroy? Will you just go searching, sword in hand for the biggest damn boss 505 Games can throw at you?"

Aidan from Awesome Games writes: 'Check out our video review of Terraria!
Terraria is an incredibly enjoyable and comforting indie game, and one of the best in its category. For Xbox 360 and PS3 owners who now have the chance to lose themselves in this lauded PC hit, by all means, lose yourself. Some of the greatest video games of all time have stemmed from a minimalist philosophy, from Pong to Shadow of the Colossus, and Terraria boasts all the same virtues. It gives you all the tools to break down every wall but an invisible one. Thankfully, Terraria is to the invisible wall as Pac-Man is to hunger.
