The Behemoth is known for some pretty damn fun games. Castle Crashers was an outstanding success and is still one of the best titles available on the XBox Live Arcade. After Castle Crashers, we were eagerly anticipating their next title. There was all this talk about the new gamewhat was it going to be about and more importantly, when was it going to come out? Well, after years of development, Battleblock Theater has arrived. But the big question is, was it worth the wait?? Yes, yes it was!

Ahead of the long awaited launch of Dead Island: Riptide, Electronic Theatre has had the opportunity to see how the videogame is shaping-up one last time. Weve already been to Palanoi, we know that water, defence missions and an improved menu system will have a significant impact on the way you play the videogame. The one thing that remains an uncertainty for that day one play time, then? John Morgan.

411mania - After being shown off at PAX for almost five years, The Behemoths next title, Battleblock Theater, is finally here.
The platformer definitely shows the charm that previous Behemoth titles have had, and also houses a solid gameplay experience beneath that charm.
The game is broken down into three different modes: the single-player/co-op story, competitive mode and level editor, which Ill focus on in order.

TMG: The first time that I ever heard about Battleblock Theater was in 2009 at PAX in Seattle. After investing hours and hours into The Behemoths previous game, Castle Crashers, I was excited to see what they could do with a new game. Then, the wait began. For almost four years I waited with bated breath and now that weve seen the fruits of their labor, I can say that the wait was well worth it.

Edward Velazquez of TheKoalition writes:
It's amazing what independent developer, The Behemoth, was able to accomplish with only two downloadable games. They can probably take most, if not all, of the credit for making downloadable arcade games what they are today. No longer are XBLA or PSN games something to ignore, both services are now offering some of the industries best games such as Journey on PSN and Braid on XBLA. The Behemoth made this statement with 2008's Castle Crashers, a game I enjoyed very much and a game I consider one of the best on XBLA. After several delays, The Behemoth's BattleBlock Theater is finally out. Is it better than Castle Crashers? No. Is it still a great game? Yes

D+PAD Writes:
Right from the off, its clear that BattleBlock Theater comes from the same minds that conjured up the cartoon splendour of Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Comic strip buffoonery and a focus on solid 2D action are the bread and butter of The Behemoths output, and their latest adventure builds on that foundation well with an endearing sense of character and exhaustive spread of thoughtful puzzle platforming challenges.
