Hardcore Gamer: Those who own both Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater will get a Castle Crashers Knight, seen below, to use in the BattleBlock Theater. Those who own BattleBlock and Alien Hominid which, hopefully, is the same group of people, will snag an alien for the game (also seen below).

"An exciting lull
Following a hectic month of weeks packed with intensely enjoyable, important and excellent games, April 2013 has lumbered along to try and catch up with March.
Can April ever hope to live up to the high standards set by its older sibling, or is the month to come doomed to live in the shadow of what is without a doubt the most exciting month of game releases in 2013?"

My most anticipated release this week comes by way of The Behemoth. Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid... how can you go wrong with Battleblock Theater? We'll have our review up soon. We've also got extended coverage of Defiance this week, but let's get to the list:
Defiance (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) - April 2nd, 2013
Cities in Motion 2 (PC) - April 2nd, 2013
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (PS3) - April 2nd, 2013
Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons (Xbox 360) - April 5th, 2013
BattleBlock Theater (Xbox 360) - April 3rd, 2013
Evoland (PC) - April 4th, 2013
Super Black Bass 3D (3DS) - April 2nd, 2013
Capcom Arcade Cabinet: Game Pack 4 (Xbox 360, PS3) - April 3rd, 2013
Please, just give the demo version of BattleBlock Theater a download so you can try the game for yourself. I've never had more fun with a 2D platformer. Way back at PAX Prime 2011, I had fun killing PlayStation LifeStyle Editor Cameron Teague over and over and over again. It's the kind of good fun you can have that provides plenty of giggles, but also destroys friendships at the same time. What are you picking up this week? Is your wallet recovering from last week's Bioshock Infinite?

Minecraft's greatest rival is here. Strike the earth!.
Between State of Decay, Battleblock Theater/Theatre and Ascend: New Gods, I'm not sure I'm going to have time to play anything that isn't an Xbox Live Arcade game this year - and that's before you consider 505's port of Re-Logic's Terraria, which launches today. It's an enormous 2D world builder, comparable to Minecraft in terms of the editing tools and multiplayer, but with a far more extensive combat and dungeon-crawling side.

BioShock! Terraria! Battlefield 3!.
It might be rubbishly, unseasonably cold outside, but Spring has sprung on Xbox Live, with a pair of long awaited XBLA games tentatively poking their buds from out of the cold, wintry earth. Side-on Minecraft alike Terraria turns up tomorrow, while The Behemoth's Castle Crashers follow-up BattleBlock Theater is released on Tuesday. There's a slew of reductions in the meantime, with the excellent Retro City Rampage reduced to 600 MS points, and Activision reducing every last bit of Transformers DLC it can find.
