Newcomer Ramblings: Learning To Enjoy Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Added: 21.04.2015 23:17 | 6 views | 0 comments
Thomas McDermott: This is not the first time I've unknowingly dove headfirst into a series lacking knowledge of what lay ahead. I could probably say that about every game I play nowadays, as I've grown to love trying to go into games blind. I got sick of following the never ending hype train of trailer, preview, trailer, preview, trailer, trailer, trailer, trailer long ago. Some games are significantly more unwelcoming than others though, and build up a mythos around themselves and their fanbase, challenging newcomers to try and breakthrough. As a result, over the years I have developed a large list (sometimes a literal pile) of games I believed I'd never play, simply because I prejudged their content, and thought I could never enjoy them.

"Ori and the Blind Forest is a heartwarming tale of redemption, love, sacrifice and platforming. Independent developer Moon Studios and game director Thomas Mahler came together to create the beautifully handpainted world of Nibel, which is full of amazing locales to travel to and things to discover."

Tin Salamunic: Curve Digital has a reputation for designing unique experiences. From Lone Survivor to Thomas Was Alone, the developer has a knack for crafting innovative gameplay mechanics and unprecedented aesthetics. Stealth Bastard was one of their most successful entries when it released on PC in 2013, with console ports published the following year for every available platform. While I never had the opportunity to venture through the original, Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is one of the most rewarding puzzle platformers Ive played in a long time. Challenge in most games is typically divided between either skillful reflexes or critical thinking, but Stealth Inc 2 requires both. Progressing through the mind-boggling environmental puzzles while the clock ticks away is both nerve wracking and satisfying. If youre up for a devilishly tough and rewarding challenge, Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is for you!
